The Shores Resort & Spa

I stayed at The Shores for a work conference. I was really impressed overall! My room was clean and comfortable (if slightly dated) with a beautiful view of the coast. The beach access was a big plus, along with the beautiful deck & pool area. I loved that there was complimentary yoga, bike rental, and s'mores kits. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to coming back!

I recently booked at The Shores Resort & Spa and unfortunately the experience was disappointing, especially considering the price and the expectations associated with a “resort.” The property itself feels very outdated. Many of the rooms and interior spaces appear worn and in need of renovation. For a resort that markets itself as a higher-end beachfront destination, the condition of the property did not match the image presented online. Another issue was the lack of transparency around additional fees. When you arrive at the hotel, you are informed about parking fees and other added charges that were not clearly communicated during the booking process. These types of costs significantly increase the total price of the stay and should be made clear upfront so guests can make informed decis

Positive: Beautiful hotel in a less busy part of Daytona beach. I love the hotel amenities. Negative: The air conditioner that sits above the bathroom was leaking down the wall and onto the bathroom floor. Engineering came to fix it. They said it was fixed but it was not. I would have like for them to offer to put us in a different room.

This hotel is in a perfect location, right along the beach. We were in town for a book convention being held here and I can easily say the valet staff was the highlight of our experience. Andrew saw that we had a handicap placard, and quickly jumped in to assist us, including pulling the car up for us when we needed to reload some items. He took initiative to offer the best service possible and frankly, went above and beyond in assisting us. If he's not a supervisor or manager, he should be. The whole staff should be trained in those customer service skills.

The hotel is in desperate need of remodeling its rooms. The restaurant had great food, although it was pricey. The hotel room was not clean, and the furniture was filthy. Upon arrival, we had no shampoo, conditioner, soap gel, or toilet paper in the room. The pullout mattress was so bad that we had to get 2 extra blankets to hide the springs so our 9-year-old could sleep on it. The dog policies were confusing, and we never did get an answer about whether they were allowed on the beach or the back area by the cabana. ||||The front desk, valet, and restaurant staff were awesome and went out of their way to make sure your stay was great. The balcony overlooking the ocean was great, and the view was amazing. The main floor was kept well and pleasing to the eye. ||||When we go back to Daytona,
