The Saratoga Hilton

Great location near popular bars and restaurants!! Clean, spacious room with comfortable set up. Very grand (slightly confusing) entrances with jazz music playing outside. The entrance and lobbies were nicely decorated for the holiday. All in all, a nice stay - we paid $365 a night for room with king bed. Saratoga is a beautiful, expensive city so we understand the price point.

We booked two nights attending to a chess tournament. Most of the guests this weekend are coming from NYC and everyone arrived after 6-7pm. The tournament only ending around 7pm on Sunday but they still have regular check out time… (11am) No attention to details and awful customer service. We will come back for the chess tournament but we will definitely look for another hotel in the area. This is completely disrespectful.

I rarely write negative reviews…. And what I wrote below did not affect my overall experience at this Hilton (or the five star rating I gave the hotel)— it is a very nice hotel, my suite was modern and clean — I am not sure why people’s reviews keep saying the hotel was in need of updating (?!) - the lobby area is lovely- it’s not a Four Seasons but it does have a mid-level luxury vibe. The hallways and public areas are clean and safe. Positive: Good location, parking, indoor pool Negative: Front desk staff was incredibly rude. I had to argue with them to check in. And in the process Lydia told me to step aside to help another guest. I felt like my business wasn’t valued, and I chose this hotel knowing it was $100 more than competitors

We stayed 4 nights and our room was clean and attended to quickly each day to refresh. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had several meals prepared on site. The food was quite good for the most part. The only food that was disappointing was the scrambled eggs. I believe they are a powder mix. They had little flavor and the texture was gritty and wet. The staff during meal service were fantastic and extremely attentive. Alfonso worked the dining room and I think he was the lead on that team. He was great. He clearly takes pride in his work and truly wants to serve with excellence.
