The Quarters on Vendue

The location was ideal for being downtown, which made exploring the area very convenient. However, several aspects of our stay were disappointing. Parking is limited to a nearby parking deck, which costs $24 per night—not unreasonable for the area, but worth noting. The bathroom had visible signs of mold that appeared to be painted over, and the toilet’s flush mechanism was broken—we had to manually adjust it to make it work. The air conditioner rattled loudly throughout the night, which made sleeping difficult. For the price, it would have been nice to have a couple bottles of water provided. First, we had trouble checking in to the loft room on Friday afternoon August 15 2025. Second, we soon found out we were victims of a bait and switch, since it was not the Vendue Hotel. Third and most importantly, after receiving instructions for entering the room, we found that it was EXTREMELY hot and the air conditioning was VERY noisy and was NOT cooling at all. Even after relaying this information to the property manager, we were told that they would not issue us a refund due to the fact that we had made a non-refundable reservation.

We stayed there one night on 9/14/22. We rented the two-bedroom suite (each with a king-size bed and its own bathroom). It is in a fabulous location close to everything in the charming French Quarter of Charleston. The kitchen had everything you needed, appliances, utensils, etc. The only problem was cleanliness in the bathrooms. Although the sinks had been washed, the grout on the bathroom floors and shower was filthy, and the walls could have used a good wiping down. The beds were made with clean, crisp sheets and were very comfortable. Also, it was very quiet, especially in the evening. Even though there is no front desk and you are more or less on your own, the manager is easy to contact by phone and was very polite, responsive and available on the few occasions we had to call. Background: We stayed at 30 Vendue in Room 102. We drove down from MD, and stayed for 3 nights in celebration of my wife's birthday. We booked the room through Vrbo, and really liked the pictures. Because of the time of year, the total came to about $1,600. Now on to my review. The two stars are for the location of the room. Here are the good parts first: 1) Location: Close to coffee shops, restaurants, and the boardwalk. All in all a prime location. 2) Parking: The parking garage was pretty convenient to the location all things considered. 3) Nice personal touch by wishing my wife a happy birthday with a note. Please watch out! Room 102 - All my clothes and bags smelled from molde after staying at The quarters. - No Wi-Fi connection in the bed room furthest from the entrance/living area. - Coffee maker for pods but no coffee pods? - No tea kettle - No hot water in shower. - Cockroach running along the floor our first night. - Guy on the street outside the entrance door knew the code to get in to the building. - The only windows that was in the corridor had the view of a brick wall. Good: - Located next to streets with coffee shops, restaurants and art galleries - Quiet and no sounds.
