The Presidio

What The Presidio has going for it - the location! Right on State St. , a couple of blocks away, a short walk from Arlington Theater and some of our favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. It is cheaper than other hotels in the area, but still expensive in general, especially for a no frill kind of experience which I knew of when I booked it.||We stayed for 1 night during an anniversary getaway weekend. I don't know if I'd stay here. It depends.||When I booked our room, I mentioned I'd like a quiet room on top floor on the reservation. I called a couple of days before and they said they'd try. We had many bad experiences at various hotel due to noise, so we were concerned, especially that they close the front desk at 10 pm. Which made us nervous, not good! Positive: Easy parking, clean except carpet needed cleaning. Updated bathroom and blow dryer were nice to use. Negative: Carpet needs cleaning or replacement

The room was fine. It was clean and roomy. The location with walking distance to all State Street establishments was great. As far as I could tell the cleaning staff was polite. HOWEVER< the woman that checked me in was completely impersonal and made me feel like I was interupting her by simply wanting to check in. I almost stopped midway through the check in process because she was rude and hardly represented this motel well. The organization may want to train check in staff with basic manners.

this review is based on my experience with the “manager” Valerie who lacks basic skills a manager SHOULD have like leadership, communication, and empathy. i booked 1 night the night before my courthouse wedding. when booking online i requested a late check out which was ignored. the next day i called and left a message requesting a late check out, no answer & no call back. upon check in the young man said they can accommodate my late check out. the morning of check out i went to the office to confirm my late check out where unfortunately i had to deal with Valerie. As soon as I walked in, she had the rudest look on her face and just did not want to deal with me clearly. i came in just to see if my late check out was still okay & she DISRESPECTFULLY responded to me saying that was not happe

updated: now that i’ve stayed, can confirm that the “hospitality” of it all is… not. front desk staff incredibly unfriendly as if it’s a total inconvenience for you to stay. between that and lack of comms before arriving, they do not seem thrilled about their jobs. location great though rooms could benefit from upgrades. windows have cracks all around, carpets give the ick. to charge what they charge for lack of service AND the state of these rooms is wild. it’s nearly impossible to contact this hotel. have called 4 times. chatted on booking and emailed. can someone pls contact me about my reservation?
