I love this place and recommend it to everyone. The love and care put into it each room and the grounds is amazing. It is quaint yet modern features. Sit around a fire outside, in a gazebo with soft music. Swing in a hammock than take a warm shower, get in your king bed and watch your big screen TV. Downtown is only down the road with great restaurants, candy shops and shops. I come for Bluegrass Festival & Christmas.
Stayed for the first time in Grass Valley - usually stay in Nevada City CA but decided to branch out. We got a list from our travel club and decided on this place. Boy-o-boy are we glad we did! Very cute place on Rough and Ready Road about 3/4 miles from town so 100% walkable on sidewalks most of the way. The room we had was a studio with small fully equipped kitchen and bathroom/shower combo. King size bed, very comfy. There was some traffic noise during the morning commute but it was totally quiet at during the day and night. The facility backs up to a small school and beyond that, a nice bunch of trails to walk dogs. Dog friendly to all dogs so our service dog was a happy guest as well. Owner Tony was super friendly and hospitable and made us feel welcome the minute we pulled in. He pro
The Pines is absolutely beautiful, clean and fun! There is a fabulous yard space with nice grass to walk the fur baby, an outdoor living room with a fire pit and free refreshments.|Our host Mr Tony is so helpful and kind. He gave excellent recommendations for so many places that we are ready to move to Grass Valley.|When we were packing up, our doggie didn’t want to leave! He ran back into the cottage and jumped onto the bed. We had to carry him out.||We had a lovely time and will be back for sure.||Thank you again,|Lillian
It was very nice, at times. A little loud sometimes, and quality does depend on which room you’re in. We enjoyed the company of Tony and Ty, minus the unpredictable hostility and defensiveness that manifested here and there. Tony did express that he does not like firefighters. So, if you are in that line of work, this may not be the place for you. I grew up in NY, where firefighters are extremely well-respected and where I saw a multitude of my friends lose their firefighter fathers to mesothelioma after 9/11, or lose them in the towers, so I felt that the most diplomatic course was to ignore that assertion. But it did make me uncomfortable and while I appreciated the quality of the cabin, the care he puts into the grounds and the generous provision of donuts—it honestly was off-putti
What a wonderful property ❤️ Located very close to shops and restaurants. Everything was very thoughtful from the sheets, robes and slippers to the appliances and the coffee. We were very comfortable. Thanks Tony.
