Vintage hotel with a 50's, 60's vibe. Perfect location- about 1-2 miles outside of "town" and the state park is a 5 minute walk away. Very quiet place with authentic desert scenery of the mountains behind and desert floor in front. The place is well maintained which is no small achievement for an independent hotel out in the (sometimes) brutal desert. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The steakhouse is wonderful and serves delicious, traditional dinners. The pool looks awesome but is not heated so we didn't actually get in (it's January). Bottom line: this place is a perfect desert "getaway" -quiet, private, stylish, peaceful, and relaxing in a beautiful desert setting. We will be back.
We love the Palms at Indian Head! We’ve been coming here for years. We’ve stayed in almost all of the rooms. Our favorites are the casitas and the corner suite. Really, you can’t go wrong with any of the rooms. The rooms are always clean, the staff is friendly, there’s a restaurant with a bar, and sometimes there’s someone playing piano in the lounge. There’s also a great pool and jacuzzi. We love the pricing and location. Thanks!
Well off the beaten path, this is a great place to stay. Pretty quiet, a wonderful attached restaurant (limited hours and days open), staff was super accommodating and friendly. The pool is "self heating" so...brrr in the Winter, but pool side has the better view. There's even an Art Gallery! And it's just on the edge of Anza Borrego State Park... we're going back next month!
We went for valentine day dinner. My husband is a big meat guy he’s Italian. He couldn’t chew the filet mignon and had to spit it out. Not sure if the cut was bad. Otherwise the food was ok a bit bland. I live here.
We lived in San Diego some years ago and often went to Borrego Springs. Stayed at the RV camping place as we had dogs but went to The Palms every evening for dinner. We once went without our dogs and it was off season and we were the only people in the hotel. They kindly left the front door unlocked for us and we spent 3 wonderful days there. Such kindness and trust to leave the whole place open for us. Now live in Cape Town and feel heartsore whenever I think of The Palms and Borrego Springs 😥😥
