Borrego Palm Canyon Campground in Borrego Springs is one of the best places to experience the beauty and quiet of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The campground sits right at the base of the desert mountains and gives you direct access to some of the park’s most popular hiking trails, including the Borrego Palm Canyon trail that leads to the famous desert palm oasis. The campsites are well organized and spacious for a desert campground. Many sites have shade ramadas, picnic tables, and fire rings, which make it comfortable even during warmer months. There are restrooms and showers available, and the campground is generally clean and well maintained by the park staff. What really makes this campground special is the environment around it. You wake up to wide open desert views, quiet morni

I’ve stayed at this campground twice. The first time 12 years ago it was really hot, but we had a great time. The second time was in April 2019, and it was awful. I think the difference had to do with location. ||||The first time we camped here we were at a tent site at the front of the campground right next to the bathroom/shower building. ||||This last time we were at a tent site in the back part of the campground, which is very far away from the entrance and the other campsites. It was extremely windy in the back area of the campground, and we ended up packing and leaving in the dark the second night there. We were seriously afraid our tent was going to blow over after the tent stakes started coming out of the sandy ground from the crazy wind gusts. ||||IMPORTANT: Also, on the campsit

We recently stayed two nights in site #63. The entire campground was well maintained and clean. This site is right next to the bathrooms, which is super convenient if you have small children! The bathrooms were extremely clean and well stocked. The rangers come by the facilities at least twice a day to clean. There was a fire pit with a removable grill and a picnic table with a sun shelter at this site.

My wife and I arrived at Borrego Palm Canyon Campsite on 2/23/26 and had the pleasure of dealing with Wendy and Kaneka at the kiosk when checking in. We have never dealt with anybody at a campsite that demonstrated the people skills that both of them possess. It is very obvious that they both have deep passion for their jobs and enjoy delivering top-level customer service to make sure their Patrons have a great experience. I highly recommend this campground to anybody looking for relaxation, great hiking, beautiful scenery, and an enjoyable experience. Thank you to Wendy and Kenika for putting the “cherry on top”…

Beautiful, but expect noise! Loved camping here; stars were some of the best I’ve ever seen. Bathrooms are super well maintained. But it is loud; there were a number of huge groups on either side of us, the campsites are super packed together with no trees etc to separate them, and noise continued well past 10:30pm. If you’re looking for solitude, I’d def recommend getting a Hipcamp instead.
