Customer Reviews
This hotel was lovely! We had a small issue with breakfast, as it really is limited. But customer service and everything else was wonderful!
We loved the location and vibe of this hotel. We would have no complaints except it is located on a very busy street. There is a lot of road noise at night and early morning. We were placed in one of the balcony rooms in the front. Would recommend requesting a room not on the street and it would be a non-issue. There is hot chocolate, coffee, and water in the beautiful lobby and we enjoyed delicious cocktails at the bar. All of the staff were friendly and courteous. Overall, I would recommend the hotel for location with walkability to many of the main attractions.
We had a wonderful stay at this boutique hotel. Check in was smooth and Justin kindly fulfilled my request and gave me great local info. The location is near great restaurants. My room was nice, comfortable, and clean with a spa shower. The bed was firm but not overly so, and we slept well. The continental breakfast was surprisingly good with incredibly delicious pastries from a local bakery, boiled eggs, and grits. The only downside is having to pay for parking, but that is the case anywhere downtown. Thankfully, there is a garage directly behind the hotel so parking is convenient if not cheap. On street parking is free from 6PM to 9AM. I would definitely stay again and recommend The Palmetto Hotel.
Great downtown location, lovely decor, friendly staff and comfy rooms - the lobby bartender and valet made great recommendations for restaurants while I enjoyed a nightcap. Morning continental breakfast was delightful - scones and grits were a lovely local touch from nearby restaurant- and the lobby music really added to the relaxed vibe. I appreciated the little details, like comfy robes, Nespresso coffee, chocolates, and freshwater in the room. I should mention that check-in was speedy and a welcome cocktail was a sweet touch. I worked in the lobby the following morning and managed to catch the delivery of warm donuts from High Cotton next-door that are delivered every Thursday, Friday, Saturday… Delicious! Smiles and friendly assistance from all staff. Thanks for a great stay.
Because we hadn’t been to Charleston before, our choice of hotel was based on what we read on the Internet. We couldn’t have made a better choice. Twenty minutes by Uber from the airport, this hotel is located in a prime location two blocks from the market and amid a plethora of excellent restaurants. We were 5 minutes from the barn where the horses for the horse-drawn trolley are stabled and an easy 20 minute walk from the visitors center where we caught a Greyline bus to tour the town. With just 45 rooms the hotel caters to their guests with excellent housekeeping services. The breakfast was healthy and eaten in the front hotel area where we talked easily with other guests. What a wonderful experience we had!
