Magical place. Pulling up gives you the feeling of pulling up to the royal tenenbaum residence or like a ghibli movie made real. The old neon sign hangs out front and her old stone blocks give a feeling of endurance. You walk in and the all the furniture and decor are original or seem to be as if they’ve always existed there and even the add ons to the building from the 20s, 40, 80’s and today all seem to have been destined for this place. The unique rooms offer a special experience as each is furnished differently and with its own unique tub. I did not see the other rooms other than pictures online. If you do the smart thing you’ll book a stay in a tub at the bathhouse everyday anyway. The clawfooted tubs on the floor below street level are truly marvelous I’m 5’10” and the tub was almost
We were down there for bikes blues and bbq. We had room 1. We didn't check in before 5 pm so the property sent email and text with code. Room smelled clean. Not old ! Bathroom is huge. Bed is nice and comfy. Lots of pillows. Room looks out on spring st so blinds were closed.if you look out , passers-by can see in. There was no snacks and this is not a b&b so don't expect breakfast. We will be back for a longer stay.
There is nothing luxurious about this place. It’s old it’s gross. We saw (what I thought was blood) on the floors of the bath room. The tubs were chipped and rusted. The steam cabins are wilted wood and awkward for everyone plus they didn’t get hot enough. It was so bad I couldn’t even bring myself to do our session. The price they charge you is not worth it at all. Don’t let any cover of “historical” fool you. If you have any self respect. Do not book here. better off driving an hour to bentonville
Had the 60 minite works in there authentic 1901 era spa and bath house. The steam cabinet is right out of Agatha Christie novels (except nobody sealed me in and boiled me to death). Exrremely relaxing, especially with it being rainy outside. The heat and steam and effect they had on my joints was just ephemeral. I could have stayed in there until I was a lobster. Bath tubs offer piping hot water and are long enough for a 6-foot tall man to lie back in. Only thing I will say is sitting and soaking for more than 20 minutes, made me wish I'd brought earbuds for music or some reading material. Finally, Zandalee gave me one of the best full body rubdowns (i sprung for the aroma therapy and cupping -- well worth it). I nearly had to be spatchulaed off that table by the end. Will definitely ma
This was my 1st time staying here and the experience was amazing! The room was clean and cozy with a beautiful view of the fall leaves. I had "The Works" treatment at the spa and it was the best from start to finish; staff, atmosphere, facilities etc!! Beautiful old hotel, will stay again!
