The Outback

Had a wedding I had to travel to in Pierce and booked at The Outback. There are a series of "suites" but I stayed in one cabin and booked another for my son and his fiance. When I pulled in, I was worried. Cute little cabins in the middle of a black gravel parking lot. My fears were easily put to rest the very minute I opened my room door. My cabin wasn't large but everything was pristine clean and very very cute. The one I booked my son actually had a little fireplace and sitting room with a separate bedroom that would have slept several. His cabin had a full kitchen, while mine had a smaller one. Both cabins were immaculate and newly redone. The staff is amazingly friendly and there is even a scenic little pond. There is a hot tub accessible to the cabins, also very well done.

So I stayed at their "Uptown" location. Which they billed as being in the center of town, well so is their other location. It also said it was recently renovated, and it seemed like it was. The issue is there's no AC in those 2 cabins. I stayed in the B cabin and there was no openable windows, and at the end of July it was hot. Very hot with no way to cool down the room. Since there's no AC or way to ventilate the rooms it trapped humidity and never got cold. The cabin got this mildew smell that permeated everything. The couch, the bed, the towels, my clothes everything. I spent the whole night sweating with no airflow. They have a celling fan but it was mounted too high to get any airflow. My husband and I stayed here this weekend, it was very nice and clean. Very cozy we will be definitely staying here again.

Thank you for putting up a soaked BDR rider! Rolled into town in a thunderstorm and they were able to squeeze me into a room last minute. I appreciated the dry bed and provisions!

The rooms were not very clean ,our bathroom was very poorly lit and the floor in there was clearly dirty. Beds were comfortable. Towels and shower curtains smelled moldy. We'll definitely stay again if we ever make it back to Pierce.
