The Maritime by Marriott Hotel

Edited this review because broken promise from staff. Probably the same staff that has been accused of theft? Bad experience from check in and nothing has changed! They charge for parking at the threat of a tow, if you ask how much, have I done this right, or anything else, you get the "I don't know" answer with the why are you bothering me attitude! One of our party is claustrophobic, we asked about stairs. "OUTSIDE!" Was all we got. Vending on the floors is just the housekeeping room, no ice, no machines, no help from anybody. $16 for 2 eggs & toast, enjoy. I spilt some water, I used a face cloth to wipe it up. We stayed at this hotel prior to our cruise out of Port Everglades. The hotel and rooms were clean. The location was good for the cruise, but not if you wanted to walk to a convenience or grocery store. They were charging 4/5 dollars for a bottle of water. The ice machine was not operating, and we couldn't walk to a store to get water as the building was situated between major highways with no where to cross. We went down for breakfast, it took an hour, we ordered pancakes and waffles, they were out of maple syrup. Something was happening in the kitchen that was not the waitresses fault. The hotel did comp our breakfast. The staff was very friendly. Sadly, we won't stay there again.

They blast music outside that can be heard in the rooms from 7AM til 11PM with no regard for guest trying to sleep. The shades are pull down but don’t cover the entire window, so they are useless. My room had a shower that dribbled water out of a shower head. Requested a room change but unavailable, so they changed out the shower head with another shower head almost as bad. No shower gel in the shower, so had to shower with shampoo. When requesting shower gel I was handed a bottle as if I should be the one to put it on the wall. To add to that, it was just another bottle of shampoo. Beds are awful, as if you are sleeping on 30 yr old mattresses that have never been replaced. Well below what you would expect from a Marriott property!

Stayed at Maritime Hotel and my credit card was fraudulently charged for a purchase at the restaurant.... I did not purchase anything from the restaurant, and was not even physically present at the hotel at the time at which they told me I made the purchase. I have proof that I wasn't at the restaurant when they ran my card and they do not care. I was told I made the restaurant purchases at 1pm on the day in question. I have credit card charges from that same say which are time stamped proving I was on the other side of Ft. Lauderdale at that time. The hotel front desk was useless in remedying this. I was put through to the general manager to leave a voicemail, the GM has ignored me completely as well. Marriot Bonvoy has not been helpful in remedying this fraud. The front desk told the Mar

I Stayed 1 night, the A/c made a horrible noise all night, I couldn’t sleep. When I went to the front desk In the morning there were no other available rooms. I checked out early and then got charged $750. I called the hotel and nobody can assist me, because they said there were a line of people.
