The Lodges at The Great Smoky Mountains

We booked The Lodges through our Capital Vacations accounts. The location is perfect because you are so close to all the main attractions in Pigeon Forge but not in the main hustle & bustle. The rooms were nice and well equipped for the most part. They are expanding so the view from our balcony was unfinished construction but no active work was taking place. Other than that, being able to see the ferris wheel on the island was really cool. Beds were nice but a little firm (im a side sleeper & had to sleep on my back because of this). When we arrived to the area about an hour before check in I called to see if we could check in early. The lady who answered wasn't very friendly during our conversation. She insisted she had called and no one answered (I was occupied when she called, didnt kno

We arrived expecting to be staying in a cabin like the picture,, not so. In a cabin back up on the mountain, not my choice but ok. We noted a glass was broken and left sitting on the kitchen counter. No Hot mitts or kitchen towels. We were told House Keeping would bring but never showed up. If you arrive on Sunday, the check in location is closed, you check in at the Police/ Safety station which was not in any info sent to us. Got the door code and found our cabin. Nice two bedroom unit but had some small repairs needed. No extra garbage bags so bring some. Unit was good but think we will look for other location. We did like the Casa Amigo restaurant near by. Dinner was $43.00.

We loved the lodge feeling of this resort and felt right at home there! Our unit was comfortable and spacious, our bed was great(!), and we especially loved that the deck furniture was so inviting! Staff was great too!|We spent a lot of time in our unit, playing games and relaxing. There are steps going up to the unit, but it was no problem for us, and we actually appreciated getting in a few extra steps.|There's a beautiful view, and the trees on the grounds and around the parking lot were so pretty (It was March and Spring in Pigeon Forge). They are expanding, so there was construction this time, and we'd like to go back to see it when that's complete.

The rooms were about what you'd expect at any hotel kind of small. They had a breakfast buffet that was decent but the waiters and waitresses and hostess were all very pleasant. Located just a block off the main strip in pigeon forge. This place is actually called the Ramsey hotel and convention center. Complimentary popcorn in the evening hit the spot. No restaurant on site. Swimming pool was open 24 hours a day.

The weather was perfect. The drive through the Roaring Fork Loop was just what our group needed to recharge and unwind.
