The Lodge at Detroit Lake

We first drove up and I questioned if this was the same property from the pictures I saw when I booked. Driving here and living in Oregon I could tell a fire came through. Ok. Checked in and was pleasantly surprised by our room!! Get out and walk to the local bar!! Won’t take you long! The Mexican food truck is hands down the best!! The local bar is in eyesight of the lodge. If you talk to the locals, they got screwed and are trying to rebuild their little summer town. Give this place a try!!

Our stay at the Lodge was a highpoint of our 10 week trip. Accomodations are spacious, well appointed, comfortable with a wonderful lodge atmosphere. The wood accents, art work and lightning fixtures add to the ambience. Staff is friendly and professional. Lake view is terrific and there are free kayaks and paddleboards to use in additon to the indoor pool and exercise room. We will return.|There was one surprsing downside on our last evening. We called the front desk to report that the toilet was running (it was fixed earlier in our stay). Staff said they would be up to check it but never showed. Since we were leaving early the next morning we decided not to call again for help. But we were surprised the request was not followed up on.

Yikes! STAY IN SISTERS. Photos are dated and misleading. Rooms ARE clean. The ONLY thing going for this place. They have so many plastic tables out front you have to go sideways to get thru. Had to stand on side of the bed to crawl up into. Air conditioner is very loud and 7 feet up on wall practically over the bed so trying to turn it off and on was a pain. Especially in the middle of the night when it kept turning off and on because the condenser pan was likely full (not maintained). So when it did run was likely spewing moldy shit into the air. Unfortunately the ceiling fan was very quiet, so even though it helped circulation it didn't cover the scratching of rodents in the walls. It was exhausting. We booked last August for 3 nights. The lodge was nothing like the pictures. Big disappointment! We checked in before going in the room . After bringing in our bags we looked around and found not one pot or pan or cooking utensils. They advertised a kitchen. We went to the store where the owner was and asked her about the kitchen setup. She said there wasn't any but we could borrow hers. We decided not to stay there and she charged us anyway as we had brought our bags in the room. Needless to say I won't be recommending The Lodge at Detroit

The rooms were very nice and clean, the staff was exceptionally friendly. They do a really good job at making sure their guest are happy and try to entertain the kids as much as possible. Considering the devastating fire that destroyed the majority of the town, the 4 rooms that they have are very nice. The beds are comfortable the pillows are perfect. We will definitely be staying again.
