Nice Late-Fall Stay at Detroit Lake We stayed at Detroit Lake State Campground this past weekend with our group, three large RVs, and a few pets in the mix. Overall, it was a good experience. The spots can accommodate larger rigs, but make sure you double-check the site lengths when booking—if you don’t match the size to your RV, you might end up selling yourself short on space. Since it was late fall, the campground was mostly empty, which made the stay quieter and easier to navigate. The scenery is great, and it was nice having plenty of room to walk the dogs and set up without feeling crowded. Some areas could use a little attention, and a few of the roads are tight for bigger RVs, but nothing that caused any major issues. All in all, a solid place to stay if you book the right-size

Overall is pretty nice place to camping, but still have couple things to work with. 1. It would be nice to see information about campfire on registration booth 2. Electric hook-ups doesn't work with EV correctly. 30amp/240v outlet provides only 24amp/109v, which is way to low to charge a car

We went there for casual visit but they were allowing only CAMPING and RV but the employees were really helpful and allowed us to stay there for an hour

CONS: SWARMED BY WASPS INFESTATION THE ENTIRE TIME! Also camp sites are tiny & surrounded by people so no privacy. RV parked right beside tent site so loud generator all night long. Late Aug, didn't know they drained the lake back so no shady close by river access, must walk a while through dry rock bed with no tree to reach water. PROS: Clean bathrooms/showers, nice small shop for ice, wood, souvenirs, etc. Made it convenient. Kind helpful workers.
