The Jennings Hotel

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Jennings. The staff were very accommodating and we thoroughly enjoyed the attention to style and detail. Everything smelled good and the soap was non toxic, things that are hard to find at places to stay. Loved the communal kitchen and library. So hip and old and comfortable.

Really great hotel in the middle of Joseph! Booked Room 5 for a last minute weekend getaway from Portland, and we got in pretty late the first night — it was so easy to find, park, and get into our room. The whole place is well designed and both our room and the shared bathrooms were spotless. We loved being right in town and so close to the lake and trailheads. Definitely worth the price and would stay again next time we visit. Wish we could’ve taken advantage of the shared kitchen and sauna too, but we’ll be back!

We went for a winter weekend vacation. There are a variety of rooms to choose from- some will give you a slightly more hostel like experience than others (for example if you get a room without a bathroom or kitchenette). The common areas and bathrooms are beautiful and very clean. There was kindling and everything set up for us in the wood stove. Lovely collection of books and records, vinyls/record player, and well appointed kitchen. The sauna is great, albeit pretty much a 2-3 (maaaaybe 4?) person max space. We were very charmed. I’m not sure what it would be like in the summer season when there are more people- we were literally the only ones there so we didn’t get to feel out the communal aspects (ie sharing the common kitchen, showers, sauna, etc.). Such awesome design, tasteful decor and cool style in this beautiful old brick building. We loved the common space with its well designed modern kitchen, the huge bookshelves and vinyl music, as well as the large balcony looking out at the mountains!

A few days away for our anniversary, Joseph was far enough without leaving and going too far from home. Our cat doesn’t handle our absence well. So, a 6hr drive was perfect. The Jennings Hotel was mentioned recently in something I was reading, I was hooked! We loved the location, the simple and soft decor and the ease in the whole experience over all. It was great to stay and park downtown and never need our car for the few days we stayed. Our room was clean and we felt comfortable. We were impressed with many things and only desired two during our stay. Washcloths and AC. We are experiencing an unusually warm October so AC would have been great and a few washcloths would have been great but I did bring my own which I always do anyways.
