Park At the River

The location is within walking distance to the tramway. The grounds are green and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We drove down to the state park to launch our kayaks. The state park is much more busy. In the evenings, the state park is full of smoke from campfires - so much so it stinks and burns the eyes. Park at the River is much quieter and more pleasant.

Park at the River used to be a great place to camp. We were regulars with other family members every year and LOVED the service. In 2024, new management moved us and separated our party despite having reservations locked in on specific sites. Other campers were separated as well. They also pushed a new policy of no dogs allowed in the park; not even calm friendly dogs. The locals have told me this park is now struggling to keep customers with the poor customer service. Apparently, we are not the only ones who have been effected.

We've stayed many times at this park under the prior management. We were just about to book 4 sites for a week when we saw the new no dog policy. Deal breaker. Sure there are sometimes irresponsible people, deal with them, don't punish everyone else. Thankfully there are plenty of great rv spots nearby. Won't be back unfortunately.

RV Camping under the trees with amazing mountain views all around while getting photo opportunities with the local deer herd. Sites are above average in size and pretty close to level. The RV park is footsteps away from Food, Ice Cream, the Gondola and several other family activities, like mini-golf and go carts. About a 10 minute walk to the lake. Would stay again.

This is a nice park with lots of trees. But their new "no dog" policy is terrible. A 2024 KOA report indicates that 64% of campers travel with dogs. This new policy means we will never visit again.
