The Inn on Maritime Bay, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Highly recommend! We’ve stayed at the Inn on Maritime Bay at least a half-dozen times over the past 25 years and never had a bad experience. During our most recent visit, we found the staff to be pleasant and friendly, as always. They’ve remodeled .. the lobby’s bright, clean, and inviting. Didn’t have time to use the pool or hot tub, but both looked sparkling clean. Interior spaces (hallways + our room) are fresh plus the decor is current and updated with extremely comfortable beds. The light continental breakfast was exactly that .. not fancy, but offered a solid selection of protein, carbs, fruit, and caffeine to get us started on our day. The Inn boasts an excellent location within walking distance of restaurants, activities, and .. of course .. has beautiful views of Lake Michigan.

We checked in at 4:25 pm. It’s not 10:30 pm and we are leaving and refusing to complete our stay. The first thing we noticed was that the hot tub was “out of service”. Disappointing since we were there for vacation. Next we went to the arcade and got scammed but the machines because they didn’t give the prizes we won. We came back and decided to try to use the pool anyway. Upon further inspection of the hot tub, it was BROWN with either dead skin cells piled on the bottom, or dirt. There was also BLACK LIQUID leaking from the roof, to the floor. The pool room was 65 degrees. There are literally falling, broken tiles from the 3rd floor. Layers of dust on the vents. Basically it’s a horror movie and health hazard. I currently have a broken clavicle and couldn’t use the pool, because the chai

Beautiful view on the lake in the morning with the sunrise. Rooms are very dated, my bathtub had hair in it and faucet was leaking. Avoid the long pillows that have no pillow cases on them as they have hair and other things all over them. Breakfest was probably the worst thing this place offered. Few bagels, and 2 choices of like middle school cereal boxes, and a 4oz cup of OJ. On top of that there is only ONE table to eat your breakfast at so I had to share it with other people eating.

I'll give it to them, Their website glitched and it screwed up our room, Not that bad and not blaming the staff as they are friendly, But when the room door can't open the first time you tap the card on the sensor, And the 2nd time it works you know it's gonna be a mess. And then the toilet seat was broken in the room because they took all the crap from the previous hotel and put it back in here with new stuff. Pool needed a deep clean as grime was on the tile. Spider webs on the window but that's typical to happen but the window was very dirty and needed cleaning. Decent hotel but I would not pay that much to stay here.
