Harbor Town Inn

A diamond in the rough! A local hotel that has been renovated and I believe is now part of Best Western. Clean, cute decor, professional/kind/helpful staff, great price, safe, comfortable bed. The pillows were too tall/firm for us (my son and I slept flat on the bed instead), and the breakfast is made to order instead of buffet (which was a little inconvenient)… but I’m still going to give it five stars! They allow pets in first floor rooms, but I appreciated that they gave me a room on the second floor which they keep pet-free for people with allergies like me. Oh and we loved the expensive shuffleboard game in the game room! Would definitely stay here again:)

Not quite sure where the 5-star reviews are coming from, but this hotel was disgusting. The entire building had many odors to it, once I got past the lobby. When entering my room, it had a strong musty odor with a humidifier running. The entire ceiling had mold on it and the furniture and lamp shades were filthy. There was long black hair on the floor and dust on every surface. The bed looked clean but I couldn't bring myself to trust how clean it was, based on the rest of the room. The 30 minutes I spent in my room at this hotel was used to book a room at the Holiday Inn down the road, which was a much better and cleaner experience.

This hotel is a hidden gem. There are plenty of restaurants in the area. It’s also a very short drive to Lake Michigan shoreline. My check in was quick and the front desk employees were really nice. The room was pleasantly clean including the linens. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. I really liked that you can place your order the evening before including what time you wanted to eat. They have a nice patio area where you can eat if you are traveling with a dog. There is handicap parking close to the front lobby. There isn’t an elevator at this property so if climbing stairs is a problem, be sure to request a first floor room in your reservation. If I am ever back in the area I would stay here again.

Don't judge the book by the cover applies here! Very clean hotel - both the common areas and my room. It was quiet at night, the bed was comfortable, and my breakfast was good. The gentleman at the desk offered ideas for dinner. Very personable.

Staff was super nice! Breakfast was excellent as well. Room was well appointed. Would not hesitate recommending or staying again
