The Inn at River Landing

Almost everything was fine. However, the room was less then desirable. Someone came into their room above us at 1130pm. They were very loud for a couple hours. Moving things around, dropping things. Very little sleep for a couple of hours. This should have been quiet time. We tried calling the front desk but it wouldn't go through when we pushed the correct button according to your phone. Also, everytime someone moved above us, pipes or something would rub and squeak loudly. We mentioned this to the front desk upon checking out. They apologized, but that was it. They said unfortunately a wedding party was there. I asked why they couldn't put them together on the first floor (where its less disruptive). They said they were spread out through the entire hotel. We will not be back. In fact,

Came in for a visit to a local church; after reading the previous reviews, I honestly was scared to stay at this hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised and would be glad to stay here again. The entire hotel looks like its been renovated recently. The front staff was kind and very prompt with service. The king room we had on the first floor was a great size and the bed was very comfortable. Floors were hardwood and, unlike previous reviews stated, were very clean. The breakfast was the typical buffet style you'd expect for an included amenity. The hot items available when my husband and I stayed were pork sausage, turkey sausage, cheese omelets, ham and cheese omelets, biscuits and gravy. Sometimes a six hour drive turns into eight hours. Sometimes the third party booking service you used thinks you did not show and did not cancel. Sometimes you get amazing service and a friendly smile and everything starts going your way. A person expects that level of service at exclusive hotels. To get that same level of service at midnight, 100 miles from a major city, is remarkable. And Betty is just that, remarkable. When an employee is allowed to freely show that level of concern and care for a guest, it is usually cultivated. From the top down. Of course the room was amazing, of course the property is amazing, I wouldn't expect Betty to work anywhere that wasn't amazing.

Stayed for a weekend getaway and had a great stay! One of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had, and the rooms were very clean! Convenient to I-40 and Duplin Winery. Check out Mad Boar right next door also!

Everything in the room felt damp. Particularly the bedding. There was loud people in the halls most of the night. The room in the floor above us sounded like they were moving furniture until about 2 am. Was not a good environment to get some sleep after traveling all day. The breakfast was a benefit to get going for the day. Would caution anyone that considers staying at this location.
