Lake Leamon

Highly recommended IF you want a relaxing campground with gorgeous views! Selected this campground for my annual “getaway” time. There’s much to do between paddle boats, kayaks, swimming (including high jumps and a floating platform), walking & fishing…do as much or as little as you want. It’s lovely to have such wonderful people running the place! They make you feel comfortable and everything about the place feels safe & at ease. My sister and I intend to return and my parents plan to stay there soon for their own adventure. Close to Duplin winery (loved their wine tasting experience & the Bistro!), Boars Head restaurant and pub and a short drive to Wilmington and the NC coastal areas. The beach here is kept clean and family-friendly. Found out the lake is fed by an underwater spring. T

Lake Leamon Campground is one of the most peaceful I’ve been to. Smooth check in and Becky was so nice. Made me feel welcomed and answered all my questions. My spot was right by the Lake with full hookups. Weekend was busier as the beach is open to the public, but away from the RV sites. An office and store has small but adequate selection of snacks and drinks. Playground and covered picnic area. Beach is clean with clean sand. Scooter boats, kayaks for rent. No dogs allowed on the beach but are welcome in campground on leash. Very quiet even though it’s right off the highway. Definitely recommend.

What a hidden treasure!!! I went there for Labor Day Weekend. My husband had to work and it was going to be a girls weekend but girls backed out. I decided to go anyhow and so glad I did. Came back feeling more relaxed than EVER! Workers there are AWSOME and can I repeat AWESOME!!!! Got to meet some of the people who are there regularly. The workers there patrol frequently to make sure only ones that are suppose to be there are which made me feel comfortable and safe. Very friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. Can't wait to go back, so much so going back this weekend : ) If I bring people with me, I do but feel very comfortable a safe going by myself. I've been coming here since I was 12 years old with my grandparents. Now I'm 35 with 3 of my own children, which I take here now. We love coming here. The lake is perfect. They have tables for a picnic and food that you can also purchase while there. They have ares for camping and you can bring your RV. There's also a room with games you can play. And the lady's who run the office are always so sweet.

A lovely sapphire blue lake right off I-40 that friends and family gather for an affordable day or stay for awhile. Wildlife of ducks and fish! Bring your fishing gear for fish and release fun. Paddle boats, picnics and safe roped off water play area. You can even dive!
