The Inn at Pleasant Beach

We were in the Garden rooms, which were very spacious and included a gas fireplace. Wifi was fast and it was nice to have a small fridge. They provided 2 very small bottles of water (which were never replenished). ||There is a very good bakery, coffee shop/wine bar, and small convenience store across the street. The office is open very limited hours, but worth popping in to say hello to their friendly resident cat. ||My room had no hangers in the closet, no full length mirror, and no security lock. While I know the island is incredibly safe, as a solo woman traveler, I would feel much better with a lock - especially as rooms are accessed by a code, so who knows how often they are changed. ||The fitness center was small, sad, and smelled like mold. Very cute room with nice added touches to make it feel like home. The pool was not open this time of year which was a bummer. The town is cute, but everything closes early, with the latest that we saw being 8pm. Short drive to Winslow and the ferry. The mattress was really bad, but hopefully they can change that out soon.

The room and garden were lovely, but I was upgraded to a far more expensive room than I booked without giving approval. I emailed them once I realized why my charge was so much more than I expected, and then called a couple days later and left a message for the manager. No response. Be very careful to check the room rates when you reserve, and if you are going to be charged more - check while you are checking in. Otherwise they may not make it right. Very disappointed with the bait and switch and complete lack of customer service.

Absolutely disappointed! - Check-in time is at 4pm but their office closes at 5pm. Leaves such a narrow window for guests to check-in with staff and to have someone available if there are any issues. - Checked in at 4:30 pm, then promptly discovered that the code we were given to access our room didn't work. We went back to the office and were told they reprogrammed it and to wait 10 minutes before trying again. We sat in our car for 10 minutes, at which point it was 5pm, tried again and the code didn't work. - We were provided with an "emergency line" to call after 5pm, but no one answered. We left several messages and after an hour and a half of waiting in our vehicle for someone to call us back, we had to make the decision to leave without ever accessing our room.

Our second stay here and it just gets better! We had a garden view room with a small patio. We enjoyed opening the door to a gorgeous garden and sitting at the table with our morning coffee. The room is spacious and bright, and the bathroom is well appointed. The village area is a short walk with numerous options for food and drink. We will return!
