The Impala Suites at Shorebreak Resorts

My husband and I stayed here for Valentine’s Day. We attended a concert in Atlantic City and the prices for hotels there were outrageous. We decided the 20 min drive was worth saving the money. It seems like the hotel is newly renovated. The room was immaculate. Everything was brand new, clean and comfortable. There was no iron/ironing board and we had to enter our room from the pool deck but I can imagine that would have been ok during the warmer months. The boardwalk is a block away. The check in is not in the same building but it is right across the street and there is a drop box to leave the keys(They use real keys)The parking was easy and the elevator was close to it. I would stay here again.

I really dislike leaving a negative review as there are several nice things about the hotel. However, everything I am writing below, I told directly to the hotel.||Booking this hotel was a nightmare. I called to get a rate and ask questions. I called 4x and no one picked up. Out of desperation, I finally sent an email. I got a call the next day with a rate. However, when I tried to book that rate online, it was different. So, now I am trying to call the hotel again. Again, called 3x and no one picks up so I leave a message. I get a returned call and am told the online booking "includes a resort fee, but we can put that back on your credit card or I can take your card over the phone with the lower rate." We initially were planning to stay at the hotel (impala island) across the street which did not appear to meet my expectations upon pulling into the parking lot. I checked in- got my mom and two kids out of the car and headed to our assigned room. To my surprise, the room was so messy and not clean. I asked house keeping who said something along the lines of she was not here in a few days? I went back to the office - was given another room went to open and a staff member came out stating someone else was in this room. Now I am dragging my kids around trying to figure out what to do next, as they did or have anymore rooms. They ended up upgrading us across the street to the suites. This was beautiful and so much better than prior place. The only complaint was the rooms weren’t cleaned daily

The building and rooms are remodeled nicely and it is a great location. The door locks are regular keys and my key kept getting stuck in the lock so anytime I went in I had to spend multiple minutes prying the key out, an annoyance but we were only here one night so not a big deal. My big aggravation was my daughter had an allergic reaction at 10 at night so I had to run to the pharmacy, when I came back there were no parking spots and there was a family from their sister hotel across the street clearly parking in these spots that are supposed to be for the suites only (the website says specifically 45 spots for 45 rooms). I do not recommend this place at all. The place was absolutely disgusting when we walked in after checking in. It was not cleaned at all. That’s not the worst part, the door did not even work with the key because it was broken. The staff was amazing. Was able to take a hammer and break the lock. I had two young kids sitting out and they were very patient thankfully. My biggest issue is that the place is absolutely disgusting and the cleaning service does nothing. I spent $1200 to stay here and it’s been absolutely a disaster. Hopefully the manager Domingo will do something otherwise this review will stay up
