Luray Manor

Pros: Very clean, friendly, family feel. TV is shared in the lobby,where there is chilled water and board games. Nice verandah outside. This is an old-school hotel; you feel like you are visiting Grandma's beach house back in the 1960's. Other guests are very friendly. The price CANNOT be beat; 3 nights for under $300 in the summer season! I like that it is old-fashioned, family owned, not a chain. We will definitely stay there again. ||||Cons: Rooms are small, some have a hall bathroom. Not a problem; they are very clean and on my floor only 4 rooms shared 2 bathrooms; they were never full. You can also get a bathroom in the room. Walk-up to 2nd and 3rd floors. Lobby area is not air conditioned, and we were there in the August heat wave this year. No ice machine but there was an in-room

The hidden gem. We stay at Luray and have been for years when we want to go for a quick weekend visit to the beach. The new owners are friendly and accommodating. Easy to work with too. Great location, clean room. Mattresses are getting a little on the worn side in the room we were in but that would be the only complaint. Other than that, we love it and will continue to return!

This place (the apartment) was clean, the bathroom was nicely updated, the beds are comfy, (watch out for the top bunk and the ceiling fan!!! You could chop your head off! LOL) It's not the Taj Mahal, but it's decent enough and close to everything. The owners are extremely nice.

I have been staying here each summer for small stretches since I was a kid. Definitely affordable compared to other hotels and places to stay in OCNJ. It is quiet, the owners are always very friendly and personable (they even give you beach tags when staying with them). Close to the beach, love sitting out on the wrap around porch in the morning or at night as we play card games or read. Across the street from a large parking lot (metered but free after certain times) and other nearby street parking with no meters. I would suggest bringing your own spare pillows because theirs are not very substantial. Their windows AC units work well and rooms usually come with mini fridges. Bathrooms are clean even though you share 3 on each floor with the rest on that floor.

I have been staying here since the 90’s when I was in college. My kids affectionately refer to this place as “Our home away from home”. You will not find a more meticulously clean place to stay, anywhere!! The owners and staff are amazing. If what you are looking for is a very clean place to get a comfortable good night’s rest after enjoying the beach and you don’t mind walking about 4 blocks to the beach and boardwalk, this place is for you! One year we tried staying at a place closer to the beach and my kids asked for us to return to Luray Manor. Another bonus of staying here is the availability of hall bathrooms. Even though we usually stay in a room with a bathroom, our whole family is usually able to get washed up from the day at the same time because of the generous amount of e
