The Hostel On Main

Judy is great. Super affordable and clean. Easy access to the GAP trail. No issue with my early check in. Inside spot for bikes. I did the private room (I have issues) which was very nice. Only issue is lack of food options in Rockwood. They do a breakfast pack at the hostel for an additional fee, but there’s really nowhere to get food in the town. That’s the only complaint I have which is not the host’s fault other than that I really recommend staying here but I recommend eating before you go and then getting the pack of for breakfast and maybe eating in Myers Dale was on the trailon your way to Cumberland would definitely probably stay here again

Stayed in the bunking area mid-week for one night in July 2023. Had the entire place to myself. Slept well - the lower bunk I chose was comfortable after a long day on the trail. Availed myself of the basement bike storage and coin-op washer and dryer in the kitchen (bring quarters). Judy the owner is great - she met me there with the breakfast-to-go bag I had pre-ordered. Will absolutely stay again next time I ride the GAP.

Rented apartment for night one of our GAP ride. Close to trail and easy to find. Full kitchen, living room, three full bedrooms, and one large bathroom. Free laundry with soap provided was a nice touch. Entire place was clean and comfortable. Brewery with food was about 100 yards from apartment which was both good and convenient. Dollar General was also within walking distance of apartment for any items that were overlooked while packing for ride. Would definitely stay there again!

I stayed here May 2023. Booked a private room for 90$. Glad I did because all my gear was soaked and muddy. After rinsing everything off with the hose outside the bike storage area. I was able to use the onsite w/d. (1.50$ each, supplied detergent). The owner stopped by to drop off coffee and coco packs. Other than that you supply your own food, etc. There is a kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, fridge/freezer, and plates/bowls/cups.| I found the Hostel to be clean and comfortable. Very nice bathrooms and hot showers! There is a lovely sitting room and porch outback. Anyone complaining about the trains is just silly. Where on this trail are you not going to find a train?| There is an option to get a to go breakfast, but I think you need to ask ahead of time. I met Mr. and Mrs. Pletch

I rented the apartment at 504 Main and really enjoyed it. There are 3 bedrooms, full bath and kitchen, living room and bike storage. The washer and dryer was much needed after a rainy day riding on the GAP. Everything was very clean and the owner extremely courteous and helpful with the details. ||Very close to the GAP trail and a Dollar Store. ||Will stay there again.
