The Great Salida Getaway

What an awesome place to stay! We loved the GNAR Lodge! The game room kept our teenage boys and their girlfriends entertained and the huge couch and TV downstairs was a good place for an evening movie. Kitchen was nice with a fresh bag of local coffee and fully stocked with everything you would need. Just a couple miles down a backroad to downtown Salida. We used the lodge as a home base and spent the week playing around the valley. The deck was a great spot for an evening beer and an early morning coffee. Clean and comfortable and plenty room to stretch out. Super nice shower and bathroom in the downstairs master suite. Only downside is that the lodge does not have AC. What a gnarly little weekend adventure we had at GNAR Lodge in Salida, Colorado! Our group decided to hit the slopes during winter, and we were stoked to find out that Monarch Mountain, this cute ski resort, was just a smooth 20-minute ride away (check out the pic, it's practically deserted!). No need to fight the crowds! Now let me talk about the view from the massive back patio. Holy snowballs, it was jaw-dropping! We gazed at those majestic snow-covered mountains for hours (pictured). We were extremely happy with the home. The house was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. It was nice to sit on the deck at night but even nicer to hang at your bar on the lower level. Sofa was large enough for all of us and very comfortable. Had a great time.
