A-Lodge Salida

Great place to stay. The location is hard to beat. It is very close to Monarch Mountain which makes it perfect for skiing in the winter. In summer, several 14ers trailheads are nearby, so it is a solid base for hiking. The cabin was spotless when we arrived. The interior looks great and feels well thought out. Everything you need for a short stay is already there, which made things easy. Management was excellent. They were responsive, helpful, and easy to reach. Check in was smooth and straightforward with no issues at all. I would gladly stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area for skiing or hiking.

A-Lodge was such a refreshing place to stay. From the moment we arrived Eric attended to us immediately. You can tell he cares about this place. The park was very clean, room was spotless and his dog Tony was the cutest. Park was quiet so you could be outside and feel like you were on your private land. I will definitely be back soon to experience that fresh mountain air. Thank you Eric!

The cabin was very nice in a picturesque location. I definitely think the cabins are worthwhile here. Service was good but required calling on the weekend as no one was in the office. Reception is spotty, so try to have details ironed out before you get there if you can. Staff is helpful and kind.

We had a beautiful weekend at A-Lodge. Our two bedroom apartment had everything, including stunning sunrises. It was so convenient for us, because we wanted to hike in Crested Butte, and visit friends in Salida. The rooms were clean, the kitchen had everything, the bed was comfy, and there was lots of hot water. And our hosts were terrific. Highly recommend.

We stayed 3 nights as part of a mountain biking trip. We had previously stayed when it was a KOA. I was hoping the new ownership would mean some improvements; however, we didn’t see any evidence of these yet. I’m not sure how long it’s been under new ownership, so I’ll give the benefit of the doubt. There were water spigots near the tent sites, but both were padlocked and thus unusable. The bathrooms could definitely have been cleaner and were frequently out of order or missing supplies (paper towels, soap). The new owner was very attentive and quick to answer any questions. I would like to see clearer regulations and enforcement. One neighbor left their dog in a kennel while they went into Salida and it whined the entire time they were gone.
