The Gray Barn at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary

This was our second trip to Gray Barn in as many years. My wife and I had an absolutely lovely time. The vegan breakfasts are delicious, the beds are comfy, and everything is exceptionally clean. The sanctuary tour and getting to spend time with the animal residents is always a highlight. We love hiking at the Mohonk Preserve, just a short drive away. This trip we found the Tuthilltown Spirits Distillery. They have a great tasting room and outdoor seating area. Rye the distillery cat comes and goes as he pleases, at least when he can get someone to open the door. It's a spot we'll definitely be back to on our next trip to the area. Visiting the sanctuary is becoming an annual tradition for us.

The rooms are lovely - simply decorated but spotlessly clean and with a nice modern style. Each room has a balcony overlooking a beautiful, relaxing view. Leigh is very welcoming and her vegan breakfasts are great. The food is delicious and the opportunity to visit with other guests is nice. The Gray Barn itself would be a wonderful, relaxing get away and there's a lot to do, and restaurants to try, in the area. But the access to the sanctuary makes this a very special place - such a wonderful mission and the sanctuary is such a joyful place.

The Gray Barn is such a hidden gem. It's so cozy, serene, and quiet with stunning views of the sanctuary. We stayed in the Curly room, which was a bit more secluded than the other rooms. The vegan breakfast each morning was prepared by an incredible chef. The carrot bacon was to die for. Being able to walk around Woodstock Farm Sanctuary and spend quality time with the animals was so special. Anna gave us a private tour. I learned so much about the animals and the WFS mission. As a vegan person myself, it felt so wonderful to stay at a place and have my money go towards helping care for the animals and the costs of maintaining the sanctuary. Staying at The Gray Barn is an experience I'll never forget. I can't wait to come back!

I celebrated my honeymoon here and it was even better than I could have imagined. Extremely easy to check in and out, the homemade breakfasts were divine, and the whole sanctuary is a dream! We came Valentine’s weekend, and it was a winter wonderland. The Gray Barn is extremely modern with a focus on the stunning view. Everything about it was cozy- relaxing beds, warm fireplace, ceramic mugs for never ending coffee & tea, and the comfiest couch I’ve ever sat in! But nothing tops the sanctuary- spacious barns filled with happy animals living out their lives with care, community, and peace. It was extremely moving and an honor to see such beautiful animals being so cared for. I can’t wait to come back <3

The staff sets the standard of excellence in customer service and hospitality. The room views are amazing and the vegan breakfast provided every morning is absolutely delicious. Although I have only stayed once I consider this place my home away from home. Can't forget to mention that the experience is even more unique as it allows attendees more time to appreciate all of the amazing work the sanctuary staff puts into caring for the rescued residents. I will most definitely be staying again as soon as possible!
