I was here for a wedding last month. The wedding was great. The food was wonderful and the event space/ceremony grounds were beautiful. But.. My hotel room was a joke. A double size mattress is what they think is appropriate to comfortably accommodate 2 grown adults. The room was so small that the bathroom door touched the mattress every time we opened it. There was literally not enough open floor space to lay down a mid size suitcase. Not to mention the incompetence of the front desk staff who was unable to follow clear instructions such as “give a welcome bag to every guest” or “don’t take credit cards from guests whose rooms are already paid for.” When trying to rectify things and make sure nobody was double charged (without bothering the newlyweds) I was only met with disingenuous apo

Went for the Traverse Stakes Aug 2025. The hotel grounds adjoining the golf course in the state park is incredible. The flowers, grass, trees .... everything was spectacular. The hotel was built in the 30's so for those expecting a brand new hotel with ALL the tacky room amenities, well, you will not get it here. It is a charming mega room hotel whose staff is polished and attentive. Were the rooms small and def over priced ?YES.|But, the experience is unmatched anywhere is Saratoga. We took the FREE hotel shuttle to/from the track and downtown several times. The drivers were older and awesome with great knowledge of the area. We did not have dinner but we did have drinks at the bar. Pricey but hey, it is what it is, right ? Free coffee in the morning ( no continental b-fast which is fine

Positive: "" Negative: The 1st room I was given was alraedy occupied by someone else when I walked in. They moved me to another room and it had not been cleaned out from the previous guests. It took 2 hours and me going downstairs and calling again to clean my room!

I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence, but every time i book through expedia, i'm always given an old,run down room usually Room 304?-with a bathtub that does not drain properly. This has happened four times now. i moved to the 4th floor this time. this place i hear everything from the room next door and it honestly feels like things have gotten worse after the renovation. The hotel staff also don't greet guesses and maintain a rather cold attitude, which is disappointing. My hope is that the hotel brings back the breakfast menu it used to offer and creates a space where guests can at least enjoy a historic and beautiful place and i truly wish this hotel could be a source of comfort and healing for visitor rather than a disappointment.

What a pleasure it was to work with the team at the Gideon Putnam to put together and host my daughters Bridal Shower this past weekend! The Garden Room was a perfect venue with its beautiful, historical vibe. The brunch was outstanding and our server Anne, was incredibly kind and helpful! The Mimosa bar had all kinds of juice options, including N/A and fruit garnishes so everyone had fun creating their personal and pretty drinks! The brunch was so well done and they didn't rush us through it, even leaving all the yummy desserts out for us to graze on as we went through our games and gifts. From the day that I called, to the day we met to view the room and determine the menus and setup, to our event yesterday - I've never had a smoother, more professional experience!
