The Gables Inn Sausalito

I stayed at the Gables Inn while in Sausalito for a work event. I found the staff incredibly personable and helpful. The Inn has so much charm and the room I stayed in (#304) had a balcony and lots of sunlight. It was also spotless. The location is unbeatable - up a quiet side street but steps from the bay and all the activity on the main drag. Both Zacharaih and Michael, the people with whom I interacted, were lovely. They even helped me when I left my eyeglasses at a nearby restaurant. They retrieved the glasses and mailed them back to me. It was above and beyond. I highly recommend the Gables Inn for your next trip to Sausalito.

I had a wonderful experience at the Gables Inn. Zachariah was at the front desk when I arrived. He let me know that I had double-booked a room. Before I could panic too much, he said I shouldn't worry, that it was easily remedied, which it was. On top of this momentary panic, he let me know that I had been upgraded to an apartment, which certainly helped me to calm down! I was even more thrilled when I saw where I was to stay! It was the loveliest of apartments with a view of the water, Alcatraz, and the bridge in the distance (Not the Golden Gate). It had a full kitchen with counters and full appliances, a dining area, king-sized bed, and a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. It was amazing! An adorable boutique hotel that has its unique, historic personality. Yes, there are quite a few different staircases (not the best option if you suffer with mobility issues) but it’s part of its overall charm. Tamara checked us in and she was so sweet. If you are used to staying in the hotels that are part of a chain then this might not be for you. If you like smaller inns or hotels then I recommend this option. They offer complimentary water and even have umbrellas available throughout the inn to use in case it’s raining. We stayed in Room 206 and the view was lovely. There is a carpeted staircase you take to get there so if you have a bit of luggage just keep that detail in mind. A little workout isn’t bad. It’s a charming hotel near town and rooms are well kept. We came and hoped to sleep in and have a restful morning, however we were woken up by someone plunging the toilet or doing some sort of loud work). When trying to go back to sleep, the Innkeeper kept us awake with a very long telephone call and we ended up giving up. He didn’t seem to realize how well his voice carried, but we sure could have appreciated some more consideration for his guests. If staying here, do not stay at the room immediately adjacent to the hotel entrance. We will not be returning.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Gables in Sausalito. The room was beautiful— and comfortable—with a view of San Francisco from the private patio! The location couldn’t be better; it’s perfectly walkable to everything in Sausalito. A huge shout-out to Zack, who was beyond accommodating and made the entire experience wonderful! I can’t recommend The Gables enough if you are visiting Sausalito!
