The Flanders Hotel

We hosted a 10-year remission celebration with The Flander's Hotel and it was BEYOND my expectations. The staff is incredible and communicative from start to finish. They answered my many emails and questions promptly and thoroughly. My experience was much easier planning alongside Molly and Lisa from the banquet department. Additionally, the day-of staff: Joanne, Wilbert, and John were exceptional. They kept the space clean, the food fresh and replenished, made good cocktails, and made sure everything was on time and running smoothly. The food was also delicious and there was so much variety in choice. We were in the Garden Room which was plenty of space for food, tables and dancing for the 60ish guests that attended. Extremely disappointed in our stay!! Paid $600 per night to stay in the 3-bedroom Penthouse suite. Was advertised as a high-end luxury experience and fell far short!! Was shocked that we did not receive any turn down service. The water pressure from the shower heads was very poor. smoke alarm went off the first night due to low battery. one of the door blinds fell apart when opening. With the hotel almost empty there is no excuse!! I saved for quite a while to treat my family to a great shore experience, and this was not what we were expecting. So sad that this historic landmark fell way short. I would NOT recommend staying here with all the other options nearby. To charge this expensive rate you must deliver on service or people will be upset!

The historic Flanders Hotel is a jewel hiding in plain sight! We love OCNJ and have stayed here for years, but this was our first stay at the Flanders. Everything was well cared for, comfortable and clean. Every person on staff was polite, helpful and welcoming. |Our suite was bright and cheerful. We had good views of the ocean from the southwest corner of the 6th floor. Our room was full of beautiful, original artwork as well as cool personal collections of seashells and sea glass! |We had abundant supplies of pillows, blankets, towels and cooking equipment. We went for Thanksgiving dinner. We did not stay overnight. We had never been here before. There were 9 in our party. The hotel lobby was so Christmasy. Beautiful. Very welcoming. We made our way to the 2nd floor (my husband and I walked up as opposed to the elevator. Not that we didn't try. Although the weight limit is 2000 pounds, it wouldn't take 9 of us up one floor. And I know we didn't weight 2000 pounds collectively! 🤔 Once there, it was confusing. So many people milling around, waiting in not very straight lines, to confirm reservations for dinner and to pay before entering the dining room. There were actually 2 separate lines but you couldn't see that until you got closer to the front. Most were 4 or more people in a group. Each single or couple trying to pay for themselves. W

This past weekend we celebrated our son and his fiancé’s night before and wedding reception and we can’t say enough about their catering team - all the service we received was top notch and both events ran perfectly. We also stayed for several nights as did many of our guests and all complimented the hotel staff and the beautiful hotel and it’s rooms.
