The Finger Lakes Lodge

I was attending an event in the Canandaigua area and booked a room at The Finger Lakes Lodge because of it's close proximity to the event. After checking in I entered my room and detected a faint smell of cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking room. The smell wasn't too overpowering so I decided to ignore it. The next thing that I discovered was that there was no soap in the bathroom. Fortunately the front desk was still open and the lady there was able to find me some soap. There also wasn't any facial tissue in the room but I worked around this by using toilet paper. ||That night when I took a shower I noticed that one of the towels was blood stained. Sad, but... this was a horrible motel for us and here is why. We found this motel on google and the photos looked good. We called and was greeted by "The Finger Lakes Lodge" over the phone. We booked a room for 6/6/2015. When we drove to the motel, we immediately recognized it from the online photos. Acceptable. When we checked in we were told that we had to drive several blocks and several turns to a different location called Cedar Lodge. We asked why we were booked somewhere else and told "No reason." I asked if we could change and was given an odd look, but told we could if we wanted to. We should mention that there was not one car in this motel parking lot by the office and it was 2:30 pm. I waited until the last minute to book a hotel for a local wedding, and seeing it was for only one night and there was a room available I grabbed one at the Finger Lakes inn. At first glance it looks alright, but as soon as I entered it had a weird almost moldy smell. I also saw that one of the glass panes was cracked. The room was not stocked at all, as I had to go to the front desk to get toilet paper for the room as it was empty. Lastly there were brownish stains on the sheets. To be quite honest, I got what I paid for and learned a valuable lesson, but I hope you will learn from this instead of the experience.

Room had two double beds and was supposed to be non-smoking. One bed had springs sticking up all over the bed. You could not sleep in it. Room was permeated with smoke although the room was supposed to be non-smoking. Clicker on TV did not work. When I called after 8 PM, I got an answering machine but no return call.||I couldn't wait to get out of there in the morning. DO NOT EVER STAY AT THIS MOTEL!

I like to stay here when going to concerts at cmac. Staff has been good. Average place; location is best and prices are reasonable. They park on property for concerts at cmac (could be a good thing or a bad thing) I like the "party" before shows. All in all, I've been happy with this place and always return. Online reservations would make it easier.
