Hotel Canandaigua, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

This trip was our second trip to this hotel. The first time we were there was in March and we were pleased with our experience. Because it was our 40th anniversary, we had a beautiful large room with a balcony overlooking the lake. We also had a bottle of champagne, charcuterie, board, and strawberries and chocolate. It was wonderful . There are a few things that I wonder about and realize that it is not the staff at the hotels fault. Many of the reviews I have been reading here talk about the furniture. The furniture is very strange on our beautiful balcony that we could’ve put 10 chairs we had a chair that looked to be like something you’d see in a banquet Table and then another chair not sure where that came from. We picked the hotel for its location, it overlooks the lake and has great views. The room is decent. They could have a better ventilation, as it gets pretty suffocated especially when the windows are closed. Breakfast service was very slow. There were only two people managing a full house. Gym is decent. The hotel staff is friendly. Food is decent. They could do better with the complimentary coffee they provide in the lobby in mornings.

Our room in this hotel was extraordinary. We had a lovely lake view and were upgraded to a king suite as Hilton Diamond members. The whole facility is beautiful. But the service and the restaurant were horrible! The guy who checked me in argued with me about benefits and knew less than I did about how the Hilton app functioned. So, I had to fight with him to get my points AND my food credits. The restaurant had one person waiting tables who might have been cooking and bartending, too. The food was below average quality and we had to ask for the beets for our beet salad as it came with none. There were two women at a table next to us who left after they waited 45 minutes and still didn’t have food (it should be noted there were eight customers in the whole restaurant). I have stayed here 3 times in the past and it has gotten worse over the years. I am giving a two star rating because I brought up the "nickel and diming" that is going on with the management company that owns this hotel, Midas Hospitality. They charge $10 for parking each day (which I was told started in April 2025), and I was never charged for parking before. No other hotel in the entire area charges this at all. I brought this up to Hilton hotel management and they blamed the management company. I brought it up with the management company and they ignored me. I did receive a credit back on my card for this, but this is just a ridiculous charge, this isn't the Ritz Carlton. The other charge was for incidentals on my credit card for $109.50 for each night which I wasn't charged for in th

Location is beautiful! Breakfast is not included though. The restaurant had a buffet for $12 that doesn’t include coffee and juice. Stale French toast, cold eggs, and the worst potatoes we have ever seen on a buffet is what we got for our $24. To top it off, our Silver tier rewards only includes two bottles of water when you arrive, not for each day and there is no water filling station. This will be our last stay at this hotel.
