The Cheshire

We stayed at the Cheshire for a wedding; the reception was at an event space just across from the hotel so the location was ideal. (The Event Space for the wedding reception was amazing.) The proximity to Forest Park, museums, and the Zoo made this hotel seem like a great spot for us.||The room where we stayed was FILTHY. There was food under the bed, hair in the shower, dust on every surface, and sticky streaks on the glass topped tables. We bought Lysol wipes and cleaned the entire room. No fan in the bathroom. The whole thing was just gross and I would NEVER stay there again nor would I recommend it. There are other hotels, a short Uber ride away, that would have been much better.||We should have known it would be dirty when we were told at check in that we had to request for our rooms

Positive: Location and the staff are wonderful. It's a bit shabby, but happy to say that our bathroom was renovated and clean. Negative: I think the front desk staff could be a touch friendlier and the Parking level needs a re-do, it's fairly dirty.

Weird crazy fun interesting, and absolute riot if done with with the right people. Lets get into it. Pros, tacky wacky over the top theme decor is amusing and fun to look at. There is a scavenger hunt and you can win free drinks or food. The staff is soooo nice. Breakfast is decent and variety of hot items and fruit because it is different menu every day. Cons, not a very clean place. Inches of dust 🤪 we actually had to keep the stained glass window open to keep from feeling sick. Tub was actually dirty. Lighting is minimal, possibly to match dim lighting of the building, but hard to do makeup. No plugs, not a good room for working. I saw pics of huge rooms with oversized tubs, but the regular rooms seem to just have the small bathrooms with the corner sink. Overall, a great bucket list

We stayed at The Cheshire for the first time this past week. Honestly, for the price I paid, I was disappointed. The lobby was still decorated for Christmas and was nicely done and charming. It was perhaps the biggest "wow" upon arrival. The staff was courteous and welcoming. However, the entire property needs a major renovation. From the peeling wallpaper in the elevator, to the picture frames with crumbling surfaces, to the bathroom vanity metal kick plate that kept separating off the vanity, the hotel needs an overhaul to be able to continue charging boutique hotel rates. The history of A.A. Milne on the wall of our room and book marker did not warrant the price of the stay given the renovation needs. As for breakfast, I had expected more. I thought we would have more of a "tradition

We needed a room for the early morning hours before a Dr appt. “It’s a Real Castle” my daughter said on our way in. It was a smoked in castle once but neither of us minded a bit. The beds were amazing, the exhaust fan in room was the best white noise; we couldn’t hear a thing outside of it. I found a new fave for any future stl visits.
