The Beach House Motel & Suites

We had a great stay at the beach house on oak island! The rooms were recently updated and very clean, which made our stay comfortable. Our room had a separate living room and kitchen area apart from the bedrooms, and that extra space made a big difference, especially with a toddler. The fridge was a great size and the kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, plates and utensils, which was super convenient. The location is excellent — we could see the beach from our second floor room and it was an easy walk to the pier and several dining options. Check-in and check-out were both quick and seamless, all done via email. Overall, a really enjoyable and easy stay. We’d definitely come back!

The good part first: Check in is very easy, prior communication is great with emails and texts, they are very pet friendly, location is a walk across the street to beach access, and two eateries are right down the block, walking distance. ||The bad part that overshadows all of that good part: the walls are paper thin. They have "quiet time" starting at 9 pm, but that assumes everyone staying in the motel abides by it. Well, unfortunately they don't. We traveled 9 hours and got in around 9pm, and all we wanted at that point was a good night's sleep. Didn't happen because the obnoxious couple staying above us came home around 1:30am, and weren't quiet. They woke us up, and unfortunately we couldn't fall back asleep. I loved this little gem! I am a senior lady traveling by myself this trip. It was a quick stop on my way from SC back home to MI. I felt totally safe, it was super clean and very comfortable from the furnishings in the living area and bedroom to the little kitchen area and bathroom. I stayed in a king suite room on the first floor. I could not have asked for anything better. There is a beach access right across the road. The receptionist and the housekeeper were very pleasant. I arrived a bit earlier than expected and was able to check in early, no extra charge.🙂 I am hoping to go back with my cousin, my shelling/beach partner for a longer stay. 10+ is my rating for this place!

Probably one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed! The location was right across from the beach and there was a little deck with chairs and a table to sit outside and listen to the ocean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The split unit kept the room cool and comfortable and it was very quiet! I loved that there was a ceiling fan in the room too! The shower pressure was great and the shower was hot. The only recommendations I would make for improvements would be to have better TP and better in room coffee but I’m being really picky about that. You can tell the owners take great pride in their little motel and I would absolutely stay there again!

My sister and I just spent two nights here and absolutely loved it. Our first time to Oak Island. We were able to check into our unit earlier. Check in with Amanda was easy and quick and she is delightful! Our unit was totally renovated. We were in a one bedroom king bed. It was very spacious! We had a two burner stove top which was so convenient because we were able to cook in our first night. We were missing an item in our kitchen and it was brought immediately. We highly recommend The Beach House (we give it a 10! )and we cannot wait to go back!
