Captain's Cove Motel

Went to go inquire about how much a room was. Absolutely nobody came to the front even called to see if someone would answer the phone. It almost seems like nobody was working there pulled around to the back and they’re sitting someone sitting right there on his phone looking at us passing by driving in the car refuse to come out or to the front.

I have stayed at the Captain's Cove Motel four times this year. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. And the staff and services were great. Its a short walk to the beach and they have a beautiful pool.||This place has a vintage feel to it. Most of the rooms have knotty pine paneling and ceilings with vintage bathrooms. I love vintage so i think it is fabulous. ||If you are looking for Hilton type luxury this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a reasonably priced, clean, pet friendly room to stay while you are enjoying the beautiful area then check it out.

Always a family fun place! The owners are nice and laid back. Staff is on grounds and friendly. Every time we come here it's clean and maintained. Captains Cove has a rustic beach feel! Making it feel as if you were back in time with the nostalgic rooms. Definitely feel like family when we stay. The pool is clean and my kiddos love the kiddie pool. Overall, me and my family 15+ ppl come here each year and small multiple trips each year for the great price and friendly ppl. It is hard to find somewhere like this now a days. A true mom and pop stop.

“BUG INFESTED” Went in on Feb 11th 2026 I checked in about 5:30 and checked out 3 hours later at 8:30 the same day Room 217 was FULL of Roaches, literally crawling with roaches on the fridge and under the bed. I turned the lights off and turned them back on and the carpet was moving. Then I went to the front desk to check out and asked for a refund and the gal was refusing to give me a refund. Even tho I had been there only 3 hours. Eventually she gave me cash.

My absolute favorite Motel! Quaint little motel with the friendliest staff. This is the only place I stay when I come to town! (when they're not booked up!) The best place to stay on Oak Island 👏🏽 Thank you for making Every visit such a Wonderful Experience!!
