The Ashley

On the website The Ashley advertises itself as a hotel which it is not. The certificate on the wall is for an ABNB. The location is lovely and the porches pleasant. Our king bed was super hard, no place to put clothes , room small but adequate. The breakfast options are minimal and my guess is fruit and cereal have been there awhile. For what you get it is very expensive. We come to Charleston often and next time will find a real ABNB or stay in a real hotel

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Do not stay here. Go to a full-service hotel. There is no one on property to help you if you need anything. We arrived at 11 pm due to flight delay and could not get in our room. NO ONE on property to help you. We kept calling the "service" number and no one answers. We kept leaving messages to please call us. It was 33 degrees and we were freezing and tired. We woke up other guests, and they could not help us get in our room. They said the service there is a joke, they called for a drain issue and no one answered them. We ended up walking at midnight to another hotel. Still fighting to get my refund!! Also, this property is NOT close to anything so you will be walking a lot or taking ubers to the nice stores and restaurants. There are alot of NICE hotels

Beautiful place but the upper floors are uncomfortably hot. We stayed in May 2024 and the Management said they would make it right and crickets to this day after several complaints. Would never stay here again and even the worker there said it is hot upstairs, so they knew there was a problem. It it is sad because Charleston is absolutely beautiful, find another place to stay that cares about customer loyalty. Never again for us, that is for sure!

AVOID!!! The Inn is run down. It was a great disappointment to us for the amount of money we spent. Very noisy location, and not the cleanest place. There were small bugs and mold in the bathroom. No continental breakfast as advertised only a breakfast sandwich. If we could have gotten a refund and had somewhere else to go we would have left.

The Ashley is a beautiful property in a very calm and charming neighbourhood in Charleston. You can easily walk (15 mins) to downtown. ||We are very happy with the self service concept. Check in was smooth and very convenient. Great! ||The room we had was located on the attic! As there are no elevators and only very steep stairs, it can be a challenge to get all your luggage to the room. The room itself was comfortable. The bed was fabulous and the living area was a great touch. Everything felt very warm and charming. Though there are some minor things that could be taken care of. ||The airconditioning was filthy and full of dust. I had to clean the filter (which was full of dirt). The bathroom is out of the AC zone, so it gets very - and I mean very- hot! Window blinds were not able to op
