Customer Reviews
My wife and I are currently staying here at this hotel for the last 3 nights and I will highly recommend this stay. The facility is very chill and laid back. A quiet get away! Jennifer at the front desk has been amazing during our stay. She has gone out of her way to make sure our stay is memorable! Customer service and kindness is a lost art these days but she is a true artist. Great work and keep making people feel special and welcome during the stay. I cant remember the last travel I had where they knew our name and greeted us by name everytime we pass by. She is a 5 star in our eyes!
We’re very familiar with the Ansonborough Inn because we have stayed there over 20 times. We haven’t been there for several years and we were disappointed with the renovations they’ve done. I’m sure they were trying to modernize the place, but it ended up not looking very good or being very functional. The charm of the hotel is the old wood heavy timbers three-story atrium the unique and unusual rooms. They modernized the entrance area and it doesn’t fit with the rest of the ambience. The breakfast dining room used to be very functional with multiple tables and a TV so you could catch the news while you’re having breakfast. They removed the TV and put in a lot of non-matching sofas and chairs that aren’t conducive to eating breakfast. There’s only one table that’s appropriate for eating br
We loved everything about The Ansonborough! Our room was lovely, spacious, well-appointed and had lots of extras: a small table with cozy chairs, a comfy couch great for watching TV, and a working gas fireplace to name a few. The lobby and breakfast area were beautiful; the staff were all friendly as well us helpful. Everything felt luxurious, but it was also affordable. We will definitely stay here again.
I picked The Ansonborough for the location and cost. It did not disappoint. All of the employees were very friendly. Our room was huge, clean and comfortable. Parking is conveniently located across the street. We enjoyed eating lunch, that we purchased across the street at Harris Teeter, on rooftop one day. The breakfast offerings are small, but delicious. It changed a little each day which was nice. Honestly, I prefer the way The Ansonborough does breakfast with fewer, high-quality items, then the chain hotels offerings of a greater variety, but lower quality. One complaint about breakfast, please add jelly to the offerings. I would have loved some jelly on my toast. If I should ever find myself back in Charleston, I would definitely stay here again.
Beautifully decorated, very warm and relaxing atmosphere. Staff was friendly.||Self Parking was a bit expensive though. $15 daily would have been better. Everywhere we went, we had to pay to park, but I thought $30 a day was a bit much. ||Breakfast good. Except for the frozen egg patties. Scrambled eggs were much better. Grits, biscuits and gravy were my favorite. ||I do wish the room had a microwave for my leftovers.
