The Alder

Booked here for a weekend as we were planning a casino getaway and drove about 4 hours to come. We got to the hotel at 2:15 and decided to go see if we could check in as it looked pretty empty. The lobby area is very spacious and just the first over all glance of this hotel gave you a resort feel, there was nobody in the bar or eating areas which was expected as it was so early in the day. When we went to check in the woman was rather unfriendly we acknowledged that check in was not until 3 and wanted to see if we could check in 45 minutes early. She asked our name pulled up the reservation and told us check in wasn't until 3, no biggie we ended up going to the casino it was just the manner how she asked for the name like she was looking to see if we were rewards members but also didn't in

Nice looks are misleading. Incompletely supplied room, indifferent to surly staff especially at check in, even unwilling to get the missing stuff in the room - just one towel, coffee pot but no coffee supplies,... Promises of getting the manager to contact me did not happen. I will find another place next time.

I wish I would have read some reviews before selecting this hotel for our stay. We had similar experience as other guests. Helpful front desk people with zero support from management. There were many small issues not receiving sheets, no house keeping, broken shampoo bottles. These were all reported with no solution. The largest Issue was our room would not properly LOCK. I was staying with my children and had to barricade the room at night so we felt SAFE. this issue was reported 3 times in our 2 night stay with zero solution. I attempted to speak with the manager Yadira but was told she was "busy" and would get a call back. Days later no call, I email to follow up again no response. Hotel is nice when you walk in they tried to give me a double queen room instead of the king I reserved without even telling me so I had to go back down to change that. Also my room did not have the best smell but it was OK and I did not want to change rooms again. Rooms are nice though and location is great.

We stayed for one night and had no issues here. The room was clean, quiet, had adequate space and the bathroom & sheets were comfortable. The fire pits outside were a nice touch for the cooler nights during fall. Staff were polite at the front desk, and the value for the room was good. We didn’t try the amenities downstairs, but the seemed adequate too. Recommended!
