Swashbuckler Motel

Location and price were what drew us here as we were spending most of our time outside. The owner was stressed when we arrived but provided a lot of information, and was quickly responsive to any questions. The property was quiet at night, which we appreciated. The AC was very good! Basic cleaning appeared to be done, although the edges around the room were where dust, sand, and old food bits had collected. One of the throw pillows had snot and vomit (both sides), so that was off-putting and made me wonder about the other pillows' cleanliness. Sheets appeared to have been changed. The bed and couch weren't the most comfortable but were fine for us. The kitchen had the basics we needed. The shower was small but adequate and had plenty of hot water. For as close as it is to the beach and the price being decent just DONT stay here. We got there and noticed many cleaning shortcomings along with an old rusted fridge. The door to the studio didn’t close right and the worst part is we had to cut our stay short as we found BUGS crawling all over the bed and wall the bed attached to. Just skip the place all together as it’s not worth the hassle. We are still waiting to hear back from management on how they are going to resolve us having to leave.

To start off, some reviews scared me after we booked. But the place was wonderful. Nothing fancy and not 5star quality, but it very cute and comfy. We came here for our 4th wedding anniversary. David, the property manager was very nice and welcoming. We got to take chairs, sand toys, pool floats down to the beach which was only a short walk away. There was also scooters to rent to ride the island on. The whole weekend was a blast. Take a chance a stay here, you will enjoy.

The property manager Kristina was AMAZING! The place is so outdated and understaffed and she did EVERYTHING she could to accommodate us and make our stay as pleasant as possible. It seems she is the ONLY staff on the property other than a gentleman I seen doing maintenance repairs. If I could give her a separate rating I would give Kristina 5+ STARS!

Do NOT stay here!!! When we arrived our refrigerator was reading over 50 degrees, not thinking we adjusted the temperature and went to bed. Next day still the same so I called the manager to come look at it, he came pressed a few buttons, said it was fine. We then went grocery shopping only to return and its still at 57 degrees! Called manager again he came back with a few tools did a few more things but still it stayed at over 50 degrees he insisted it was not broken I have pictures to prove it is not holding temperature. In addition in the pictures you can't see how truly dilapidated this property is, spakle patched walls, cracks everywhere on the floor, water damage and a broken light in the bathroom, not to mention I can see outside through the front door!
