Super 8 by Wyndham Rexburg

I know that any hotel in Rexburg is outrageous (ridiculously) in price. This hotel was one of the least expensive and so we booked it early for BYU-I graduation. Big mistake. Pay a little extra for a better room elsewhere. ||||The staff were courteous and welcoming. I don’t think they actually had the resources or ability to help with our issues. ||||The black out curtains didn’t close all the way, which could have been an easy fix and only cost cents to get better hooks. The flood light out back shined in through that window all night. ||||Breakfast had no protein options. The carb spread was pretty sad as well. ||||Cost for value may be the worst I have experienced.

I struggled between 2 or 3 stars but settled for 3 because staff was very friendly and helpful. But I’ll write a review that gives you as much detail as possible without too much personal opinion. Rooms: It was clean. Not very big for 2 queens. One mattress very thick and soft and the other was thin and springy. Drapes were broken so always had light coming in. Rooms always had a musty wet smell. Breakfast: basic cereal(Frosted Flakes, special k), dry oatmeal you can make, mini donuts, bread, yogurt, and waffles. Coffee and milk. The hotel itself looked like it was newly painted inside but the carpet was very old. Afternoons it smelled better but most of the day it smelled like cigarettes. It was a very creaky hotel with thin walls so at night we could hear everything. Also a train goes by

Positive: Location Negative: We were at this location for 6 days, cleaning service was never in our room the entire time, one small waste basket near the TV, none in the bathroom. I had to go to the front desk to get garbage bags, body wash, and toilet paper.

We got stranded with car trouble in Rexburg and chose this for the price and location close to the repair shop. After reading the reviews, I expected a bad, sad version of motel 6. FAR, FAR from it! Check in was seamless with both owners chatting with us, entire place is clean and fresh, and the mattresses are like 18 inches deep! Already cold refrigerator and microwave in room. TV has great channel selection, alarm clock has 2 USB ports. Bathrooms have full size tubs. Iron and ironing board included and a blow dryer under the sink too. Haven't had breakfast yet, but I expect it to be very standard for the very fair price. I was very pleasantly surprised!

The staff was helpful and hardworking. My room request was accommodated and that is very important to me. ||||The room itself was very disappointing. I stayed in a king room, which should automatically imply that two people will be in the bed but only one side of the bed had a nightstand or an outlet for bedside charging a phone. That alone made me feel unwelcome in my own room. ||||Additionally I was very, very surprised to find that the room did not have a closet, clothing rack or even a luggage rack. Also, while the room was not carpeted, it did not have a rug or provide disposable slippers as I’ve seen in literally every other motel or hotel room without carpeting. So apparently you’re expected to wear your dirty outside footwear everywhere in the room. ||||Lastly, while it was conveni
