Super 8 by Wyndham Mineral Wells

We arrived at 4 am super sleepy. To pur surprise the toilet and the toilet seat are not one of the same. It was gross. And the bath tub was covered in hair! And not the hair on your head

I was very happy with the room and the cleanliness of the grounds. The plumbing all worked, the bed was comfortable, and the heater was quiet. I drove a little off the interstate to get there to stay in the Wyndham hotel system, but the roads were good. I would give them 5 star in service, but for one incident. When I turned my room keys in, I accidentally handed over my drivers license as well. I didn’t discover it until the next day. I called back to the hotel (after negotiating a horrendous answering machine system that is designed to keep you away from the front desk) to see if that’s where I left it. Yes, they had it and they would mail it to the address on the license. 5 phone calls, 2 emails, and numerous text messages later, I managed to contact the owner. He solved the problem th

The front desk is prompt, they are all fantastic. They have been updating the rooms. The only one available that I could access (had to be first floor) had a walk in shower. Not what I was thinking it was. I was under the impression it was like those you see advertised on TV. That room is great for someone in a wheelchair or even using a walker and needing a large shower with a handicapped seat. Got moved to a regular, downstairs non-smoking single as it became available. It is great. They are working hard to update the rooms. It is my understanding that the ownership is newish. If you have been here before and need a room give it another try. Clean, comfortable, lovely flooring, a great room at a great price. This isn't the Ritz Carlton. But if you can afford that you wouldn't be calling

I liked that it was the cheapest place to stay in Mineral Wells. I can’t believe that I still had to pay $86/night to stay there. It was disgusting and totally unsafe. The shower curtain had mildew growing halfway up and the floors turned our feet black. The door didn’t actually close properly. You could see sunlight all the way around the door, and the jamb was hollowed out so that the only thing keeping the door shut was a thin strip of metal. The white towels had black stains on them. The room itself smelled like mildew and smoke (even though it was a non-smoking room). I will never be going back there and cannot recommend it at all.

Be careful about giving your bank card to pay for the deposit on the room. When I checked out and asked about the deposit I was told it could take up to 5 business days for the $35 to be returned to my account. The guy working made no attempt to inspect the room before we left so it was safe to assume that all was well. 3 days later only $24 was deposited to my account of the $35 I paid. When I called to ask why the guy said there was a wash rag and a towel missing. So I was charged for it. As if I want to keep a washrag that has been used by hundreds of people to God only knows what. The proper way to handle that situation is for a room inspection to be done during checkout so that any supposed missing items could be discovered before letting guests depart assuming they are going to recei
