Super 8 by Wyndham Elko

I recently stayed at Super 8 by Wyndham Elko for a long-term work assignment, and it was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve had. I work night shift on a long rotation, which means my sleep schedule is completely opposite of normal business hours. I tried multiple times to coordinate housekeeping around that — not asking for anything unreasonable, just basic communication so I wouldn’t be woken up after only two hours of sleep. Instead of working with me, I was basically told that housekeeping comes when they come, and if I didn’t wake up and leave the room during their schedule, I could be asked to leave the hotel. Positive: I was able to leave a day early. Negative: The room was very dirty. Two of the three lights were broken. there wasn't a table ore chairs in the room. There wasn't anyone at the front desk, you had to go next door to the Travel Lodge for help.

I almost didn't book this motel because the Google reviews are very negative. Don't come here expecting the Hilton or Marriott experience. My room was clean, and the hallway smelled like bleach and cleaning products. The carpet and furnishings are showing age. This is common with most budget accommodations. The bed was comfortable, and sheets were clean. Great hot water pressure in the shower, and truck and trailer parking available. Several restaurants nearby, all are within walking distance. Lobby coffee machine 24/7, even had decaf available. Very quiet area, Elko city hall next door. I did experience one issue: the TV remote only operates the DirectTV satellite box, it wasn’t programmed to the TV for power or volume. Only a small inconvenience. Couldn't get the hotel personnel to tell me how to use my TV. Very rude it's a dirty place I will never go there again. Someone ought to check this place out healthwise. Tried to talk to the manager but they wouldn't return my call. It used to be a good place
