Super 8 by Wyndham Athens TX

We spent two nights at Super 8. Rooms were very clean. Housekeeping did an excellent job on cleaning our room during our stay. Front desk employee was helpful. We didn't eat breakfast there, so I can not comment on this. Location was close to restaurants. Our bed was on the firm side. We would stay here again if we are in Athens.

This hotel was a surprise and my room was well above normal Super 8 standards. For a budget hotel the room was well illuminated and well appointed and the bed was comfortable. The shower worked well and the place was generally very clean. I would definitely stay here again when in town and wanting to have a hotel stay for less than $100.

Update: you'll comment on my review but offer no resolution to us who had to stay in this room ? We stayed in what was advertised as a smoke-free room, but it clearly hadn’t been maintained that way. There were cigarette burns on the chair and even in the bed blankets, which made the room feel poorly cared for and not truly smoke-free.

You really can't beat the price and hospitality of this place! It is not a fancy new location from the outside, but please give this place support! Everything is very clean and tidy, and the room well maintained. The staff were warm and hospitable, coming late at night to bring us an extra blanket when our son needed one. There was a delicious breakfast with hot waffles, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, and cofee in the morning. It was nice and quiet at night, and beds are comfy. Thank you for the wonderful stay in a cozy place we could afford! We will definitely come back.

Positive: Nothing Negative: The room smelled bad. The tile in the bathroom shower badly needs replaced. The floor was dirty. The bedding was cheap and old.
