Holiday Inn Express & Suites Athens by IHG

Absolutely exceptional stay from start to finish! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and welcoming, but what truly made the experience outstanding was the front desk staff, especially Shelby. The A/C got cold just how I liked it. The mattresses were just right, I probably had the best sleep I ever gotten. Breakfast was delicious! From the moment I arrived, Shelby was warm and welcoming. She went above and beyond to make sure I felt taken care of, answered every question with patience, and even helped recommend local restaurants to try (The Boathouse was amazing). You can tell she truly cares about guests and takes pride in her work. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and I hope management knows how valuable Shelby is — she’s awesome!

I would 100% recommend this hotel. The staff were kind and funny. They interact with their guests and made the stay better with their conversations and jokes. We stayed here for a wedding and slept so good. I can’t comment on breakfast because I slept so well I slept in past breakfast both nights. I slept until 10AM and haven’t done that in years. Clean rooms comfortable beds. When I say clean I mean CLEAN. Nothing between mattresses and bed frames (yes I look) floors clean restrooms sparkling.

Welcoming staff, offered local restaurants options. Room was very nicely played out. Plenty of lighting and storage options. Bed was comfy. Centrally located next to easily accessible food and shopping. Breakfast was delicious and had good options to choose from. Friendly staff made the stay exceptional.

Positive: Staff were super attentive. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was excellent. Negative: Handicap room did not have wheelchair accessible shower or raised toilet instead it had a regular toilet with handrails a tub with a shower seat, but you could not reach the soap

We stayed at this motel for sn extended period of time over the holidays.The staff were so nice.The weekday Breakfast lady was amazing at her job.And so friendly. The desk people,both night and day were so helpful and kind. Our room was clean.And large compared to some other motels.Plus it was very quiet and in a good location next to stores and eateries. We will definitely be back again!
