Super 8 by Wyndham Abilene South

You get what you pay for. The hotel knows it's below average so it decides not to give your money back. The couch was heavily stained. The room smelled like mold. The shower handle was broken and maintenance couldn't fix it so we were put in another room. Went from a king size Suite to a double twin which felt broke but they were comfortable. The fire alarm was hanging out of the ceiling and the bathroom vent didn't work because it was covered in dust. Friendly staff though. It still gets alot of customers though. When we arrived there was only 6 cars. We left early in the morning and the lot was full.

Absolutely the worst hotel. Room was dirty. We had no soap, shampoo or conditioner. Front desk had no soap and suggested we go to the dollar store. When we suggested that the staff go to the dollar store they then gave us a styrofoam cup of dish soap. Ultimately the staff managed to scrounge up a bar of soap. Free breakfast was a joke. Children had no option for milk or juice. Steer clear from this miserable hotel.

Positive: Price was reasonable. Negative: Room (221) was missing a bulb in one of the night stand lamps, a cigarette hole was in the bedspread although a non-smoking room, the desk lamp was bent and propped up in a corner, there was no chair for the desk, the ice machine was non-operational.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We booked the room on Expedia. The site did not note that the property is under construction. No breakfast, no ice machines, no vending machines and no pool. The sofa in the room was badly stained and the room was not ready at 5 pm. When was asked for some type of compensation for the lack of amenities that we made our reservation based on, we were told no compensation because the room was not being painted or renovated at this time. While we were standing there 2 groups canceled their reservation and suggested we do the same. The manager said she was not willing to work with us and canceled our reservation. We should have heeded the person who met us at the door and said she could not stay there and wishes us luck. False advertisement and the poorest customer service

This place is an absolute disgusting shame. And that was putting it mildly. What you see in the advertised photos is not what we walked into. After giving the staff (of 1) ample time to complete the cleaning of the rooms, it was not done. But, what you see on the photos, well….the lobby was in the process of being painted and reeked of paint fumes, the pool was empty and that too needed repaired, and not to mention, no breakfast was to be prepared. As I was walking in, another lady warned me to turn around and leave. After the nasty attitude from BELLE, an employee at the front desk, I was told my reservation was cancelled, which in fact was a positive favor to me. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!!!!
