Sunset Motel

Was very clean and safe. The owner's were very helpful & respectful. I worked nights & when I came in, my room was better than I left it. The floors was mopped & the bed was made. It would be nice if they had a laundrymat for the guess. Outside of that. Nice stay. If I ever work in taft again. This would my preferred place to stay. Thanks for your hospitality. David & Millie

AMAZING for the price! $60 after tax and we received a very clean room, with an awesome AC unit and a great shower. Really we were just looking for a place to sleep with AC and no bed bugs but I want to spend the extra money just to stay here again! I love it, and the staff is very nice!!! Will definitely come back again!

The 5 stars are for price, location and service. The rooms are clean and decent sized. They clean your room and make your bed daily. The family that owns it are wonderful and accommodating. I travel to Taft for work a few times a year and look forward to staying here. They work around cleaning my room when I work graveyard shift and can find you a room suited for working nights if you let them know. Good food and a good dive bar within walking distance.

Great location, close to most businesses,however the owners are very rude and if you are a local good luck with trying to rent a room they will always say no vacancy when there is absolutely no cars there. If they do rent to you they want a cash deposit on top of the room rate and cash key deposit as well.

I stayed here last week and was pleasantly surprised. My room was very clean and the bathroom had a great shower. The price was the best in town, too. Very close to downtown, food, and the local watering hole :) Quiet at night, slept right thru. Plenty of electrical outlets for my electronics and the bed was ok, not awesome, but ok for a night. They should put some hooks in the bathroom for hanging up pants, shirts, towels, etc, would be very helpful touch.
