Sun Village Resort

We love the area and have been coming to Sun Village for 30 years. Sadly, we will not be back. No one in the office most days. Bathroom not cleaned for 6 days although someone finally replaced the empty TP roll, trash all over the floor, I cleaned up a couple times, grass is all dead in most spots, just weeds and dirt, off leash dogs all over the place, multiple rules which is fine but no one around to ensure they are followed. I told someone to leash their dog and I was the bad guy. We’re looking down the road for a better place to spend our money.

We camp here every year with our family and friends. It is beautiful! We live in our swim suits and spend all our time on the lake. The staff works hard to keep this place clean and organized. My only complaint is to read the FINE print …no mats or tents in RV sites. We got dinged a $100 fee for using a mat outside our RV. Lesson learned. We will return again this year with all our kids and make memories ❤️

I've been going to Sun Village Resort every year for the last 10-ish years, and throughout my time I've experienced a change in ownership, reservation format change, pricing differences, adjusted rules, all with transparency and honesty from the staff here. As an avid camper and outdoorsy person, these campgrounds are very relaxed (as long as other campers are lol) and generally quiet, even if it's full to the brim (if you don't like a full camp ground, try to avoid holiday weekends). There's fun hiking trails around the campground, and although there is little to no cell service, town is only a hop and skip away from grocery stores, restaurants, and thrift stores that have become a yearly tradition to support. I've rented the motor boats, stayed in cabins, on an RV lot, and on tent spots

Boy do I wish I would have read the reviews before going!!! This place is very old, dirty, run down and unfriendly! No 50 amp sites, tight uneven ground hard to get in and out of no signage to even find your spot when coming in. More worried about their rules than them providing a safe fun campground. Docks look like they were put in 40 years ago. And this place charges a membership?! Insane!!! Do yourself a favor and a lot of money and skip it. Oh and they charge $7 a day per dog at a campsite!!! Seeing it later they say leave your dogs at home on the website. Never again!

I’m not sure how many stars to give. The lake is AWESOME! The campground is old and they could use some updating. My friend put quarters in to shower and it didn’t work. One of the women’s toilets was plugged. There is no cell/wifi service which I don’t care about. My friend had a cabin reserved and it was yanked out under them without even being told. I’m just glad they called for info and found out before showing up. Some of the FULL HOOKUP is 110, no 30/50 AMP. My surge protector kept tripping so I had to by pass it. I have been to this campground several times. I’m sure I’ll be going back. I just wanted to leave a review for future campers.
