Sun Lodge

This hotel is literally at the base of the mountain, with a super easy Euro-style ski-in/ski-out boot room that actually makes getting to the lift line fun. (No car required!) Perfect to ski, eat, and drink through a weekend, or to hike straight from the hotel to the amazing views of Vermont. They also have great food and damn good cocktails—I highly recommend the Cloud-9!||I loved the lobby. It’s stylish but cozy, with a roaring fireplace, little conversation nooks, a beautiful long table set up for remote work, and a weirdly addictive game I dare anyone not to try. The decor was so spot-on, I wanted to bring every piece home with me—and, the whole place smells amazing.||Extra points for the downstairs game room, which is the real deal: pool, air hockey, foosball, ping pong, and corn hole

We were here for an mid-week ski trip and had a great time with our two kids. Best part is being so close to the mountain with the boot/ski room and you can basically ski right to the main lift from the door. Lobby was well decorated and welcoming, lots of board games (with all the pieces!), big fireplace and quiet atmosphere. Game room downstairs was a little dated, many of the games (air hockey, pool table) were pretty beat up but functional, kids don't care. Lots of room and gym mats for kids to run and jump around too. Staff at the front desk was pretty bare with one guy basically overseeing the entire hotel so plan on taking care of yourself if you need something. Restaurant prices were a bit steep (to be expected for on the mountain food) but food and service were good. Lots of othe

Just enjoyed a night at the Sun Lodge and was reminded right away why I keep coming back. The common spaces are so calm and homey. Our room was comfortable and had everything we need, but we spent most of our time in the beautiful lobby area. Ordered cocktails and played shuffleboard. Also borrowed a deck of cards from the front desk to play by the fire. Friendly staff helped us enjoy some wonderful family time. We’ll be back.

We drove from Boston to the Sun Lodge to see some leaf color in the fall, staying 3 nights and arriving on Tuesday. The Trailhead restaurant inside was closed the first night but plenty of others were open nearby. The room was large with a balcony. It was warm the first night we were there before cold air blew in and we found the AC hard to regulate with the remote, but it was a minor problem. The lodge was not very busy, but the restaurant brought in more folks to eat and we ate there and enjoyed the food. They also serve breakfast sandwiches for $7 in the mornings and we ate those the first morning. Free coffee, hot, cold, and sparkling water are available.
