Stratton Brook Hut

We had an incredible stay at Stratton Brook Hut as part of a hut-to-hut adventure (Stratton → Poplar → Stratton) with Maine Huts and Trails. We were lucky enough to be there opening weekend, and everything exceeded our expectations. The staff was wonderfully hospitable and created such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We loved meeting both the team and fellow guests—it felt like an instant community. The food was absolutely delicious, and we especially appreciated how thoughtfully they accommodated our dietary needs. The facilities were spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious. The trails were perfectly marked and ideal for early season snowshoeing. Honestly, we feel completely spoiled for all future trips—Stratton Brook Hut and the entire Maine Huts and Trails system has set the bar

Another beautiful Maine Huts and Trails destination. Hiked up in the off-season from the Stratton Brook route 27 trailhead on the Oak Knoll trail. The total distance from the parking is actually a bit over 4 miles even though signage says 3 miles.

With the hike, though signage needs some upgrading. Was a bit confusing on the trail. Food was awesome, atmosphere friendly, cracking fire. Said the bunk houses were heated to 50° but we all felt it was warmer than that.

This is our second time visiting Maine Huts & Trails overnight and the first time at Stratton Brook Hut. I am continually impressed with the service, quality of the food, and the cleanliness of the huts. The views from this hut are unbelievable too! Highly recommend for a great adventure!

I stayed here with my brother and his family while hiking all four of the Maine Huts in July 2015. It is a beautiful new hut, with lots of wood, high ceilings and stone floors. The staff was friendly and attentive, providing substantial meals that helped you prepare for your next day outdoors, while a selection of beers and wine was available.
