Upon entering I met Barbara, a volunteer, she was so friendly, enthusiastic, informative, and clearly loves this place and what she does! Thank you for taking the time to welcome us in and explain everything about this special place. This was our 1st experience here. Talk about unique and beautiful! We had an RV site right on the canal. So relaxing. Immaculately maintained. Thank you Barbara for going out of tour way for us!
Very clean and pretty campground. Not dead quiet for tent camping due to highways nearby but not so close that it was my problem for sleep. Very neat a lovely stretch of water and lochs system nearby. I came and went early/late so never really met anyone but the people on the phone at the site were super helpful and responsive!
This was a good campground. They have posted entry times, so no entry or exit after that. 6am-sunset. After sunset you can park outside and walk in to the campsite, which might be a trek if you have a lot to bring in. There are picnic tables with many plots, and a bit of shade. The water runs right along many campsites. This was a calm and peaceful area with bike riders, fishermen, and campers. They have a boat ramp there, along with a couple of fishing piers. There are utility hookups, clean bathrooms, showers, etc. In the early morning the birds and wildlife are out(loud and proud). I would definitely come back here again.
there are nine beautiful sites overlooking locking down. Three sites are on the water. The remainder have the view. Sites are electric and water with a dump station on site. Bathrooms are clean with hot water.
This is a beautiful small campground, next to the Army Corps of Engineers lock. Nice flat concrete pads with picnic tables and fire pits under your own personal covered shelter. The river going to the Intercoastal Water way and Atlantic Ocean is 75 yards away, and seeing all size boats come through is amazing. If you have a National Park Pass, we paid about $ 14.00 per night. Shopping is close buy for anything you could need or want. This is our 3rd trip here.
